# Las Vegas Still Leads a Ten City Field

For a 15 to 20 man joint bachelor trip in May to July 2027 with golf under $200 as a must-have, resort amenities, doubled-up rooms and a $1,000 to $1,500 all-in ceiling, **Las Vegas remains the recommended destination, with Orlando second and Myrtle Beach third, and none of the four new candidates (Nashville, Austin, Tampa/St. Pete, New Orleans) displaces them**. Vegas is still the only city that scores well on every axis at once: nonstops from all three origin airports at $250 to $435 round trip, summer greens fees of $69 to $130, a casino, pool and sportsbook under every hotel so the group never needs a car, and a midweek 3 night cost of roughly **$1,350 to $1,500 per person** at a mid-Strip hotel ([Las Vegas Wonders](https://lasvegaswonders.com/?p=8981); [Las Vegas National](https://www.lasvegasnational.com/rates)). Orlando is the cheapest real plan at **$1,150 to $1,450 for 3 nights** in a ChampionsGate pool home, and Myrtle Beach's $300 condo golf packages keep it at $1,350 to $1,550 by origin ([Emerald Kite](https://emeraldkite.com/vacation-rentals/orlando-home-1061519/); [SCGolf.com](https://www.scgolf.com/stayandplay/27255)). Of the new four, **Tampa/St. Pete comes closest to the podium**: Innisbrook's Copperhead drops to about $150 in summer with a 12 golfer group program and TPA has cheap nonstops from all three cities, but near daily lightning, a 90 F plus heat and humidity profile and a realistic $1,590 to $1,920 for 3 nights from Detroit keep it fourth ([Innisbrook golf groups](https://www.innisbrookgolfresort.com/golf/golf-groups); [Expedia DTW to TPA](https://www.expedia.com/lp/flights/dtw/tpa/detroit-to-tampa)). Nashville has the best night out and the easiest logistics on the list but downtown rooms cost $383 a night all-in and the golf is good value rather than bucket list, so it only hits budget with four guys per room; New Orleans has top tier nightlife, cheap summer hotels and brutal humidity with only two real golf courses; Austin's lake and Hill Country programming is excellent but it needs five cars, Omni Barton Creek is far over budget and Detroit has a single Delta nonstop ([ULI 2026 hotel list](https://spring.uli.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/01/2026-ULI-Spring-Meeting-Hotels-1.pdf); [Kayak Hyatt Regency New Orleans](https://www.kayak.com/New-Orleans-Hotels-Hyatt-Regency-New-Orleans.32826.ksp); [Omni Barton Creek golf rates](https://omnihotels.com/hotels/austin-barton-creek/golf/rates)). Scottsdale fits only on a 3 night Talking Stick plan in June heat; San Diego and Lake Tahoe break $1,700 for Detroit flyers; Palm Springs, Hilton Head, Pinehurst and Big Cedar were screened and dropped. Spirit Airlines ceased all operations on May 2, 2026, which removed the cheapest Detroit option on several of these routes, so every Detroit fare here now rests on Delta, Frontier or Southwest ([WJLA](https://wjla.com/news/nation-world/spirit-shutdown-fl-based-budget-airline-ceases-operations-after-failed-federal-buyout)). The single most important decision after the destination is still dates: a **Tuesday or Wednesday arrival in mid May or the second to fourth week of June, avoiding Memorial Day (May 31), Father's Day (June 20), CMA Fest (June 10 to 13) and July 1 to 6**, cuts lodging by nearly half in Vegas and flights by $90 or more everywhere ([Fox Business, Hopper data](https://foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/memorial-day-flights-hotels-what-will-cost-you); [WSMV, CMA Fest 2027](https://www.wsmv.com/2026/08/14/cma-fest-2027-tickets-sale-festival-prepares-new-nissan-stadium-debut/)).

## Vegas midweek is the only plan that fits every constraint at once

The brief has seven hard constraints, and Vegas is the only destination that does not fail any of them. Flights are the first filter: Las Vegas, Phoenix and Orlando are the only three airports with mainline nonstops from DTW, DFW and ATL, and Vegas summer medians are **$434 / $423 from Detroit (June / July, 4h 29m), $324 / $352 from Dallas (3h 01m) and $423 / $433 from Atlanta (4h 28m)**, with Frontier basic fares dipping to $119 to $144 from Detroit for anyone willing to carry on ([KAYAK DTW to LAS](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Detroit-Metropolitan-Wayne-County-DTW/Las-Vegas-McCarran-LAS); [KAYAK DFW to LAS](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Dallas-Fort-Worth-Intl-DFW/Las-Vegas-McCarran-LAS); [KAYAK ATL to LAS](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson-ATL/Las-Vegas-McCarran-LAS); [Expedia DTW-LAS](https://www.expedia.com/es/lp/vuelos/dtw/las/detroit-a-las-vegas)). Note that Spirit Airlines ceased all operations on May 2, 2026 (the FlightsFrom schedule page that still listed Spirit DTW to LAS flights into November 2026 is stale), so Frontier is the only Detroit budget carrier left on the route ([WJLA](https://wjla.com/news/nation-world/spirit-shutdown-fl-based-budget-airline-ceases-operations-after-failed-federal-buyout); [FlightsFrom DTW-LAS](https://www.flightsfrom.com/DTW-LAS)).

Lodging is where Vegas separates itself, but only midweek. Published 2026 tiers put a premium mid-Strip hotel (Park MGM, Paris, Planet Hollywood) at **$90 to $160 per night Sunday through Thursday versus $200 to $350 Friday and Saturday**, and a mid-tier Flamingo, LINQ or Horseshoe room at $60 to $120 midweek; resort fees run $44 to $62 per room per night with tax at every candidate hotel ([Las Vegas Wonders](https://lasvegaswonders.com/?p=8981); [Vegas4Locals resort fees](https://www.vegas4locals.com/resources/las-vegas-resort-fees/)). The Strip's June 2026 average daily rate was $165.45 and midweek occupancy ran 78.8 percent against 89.3 percent on weekends, which is the structural reason a Sunday to Wednesday block is cheap ([GetCostIdea, LVCVA data](https://getcostidea.com/average-hotel-cost-las-vegas-strip-price-guide/)). A Park MGM two queen room at $130 base plus roughly 13.4 percent tax and the $56.69 resort fee is about **$204 per room per night, or $102 per guy doubled up**; the same room on a Friday or Saturday is about $369, or $185 per guy. Every candidate hotel has two queen inventory and a pool scene, and the off-Strip options (Virgin, Palms, Rio, Red Rock, Green Valley Ranch) add free parking if the group rents vehicles for golf ([Vegas4Locals parking](https://www.vegas4locals.com/resources/las-vegas-parking-fees/)). Vegas room blocks are a phone call to the hotel switchboard asking for group sales; a courtesy hold needs no deposit and releases unbooked rooms about 30 days out, but the block rate is often higher than the public or promo code rate, so everyone should price both ([Las Vegas Advisor](https://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/faq-hotels-blocks/)).

Golf clears the $200 bar with room to spare. Las Vegas National, less than 10 minutes from the Strip, posts official **summer 2026 non-resident rates of $109 before 11 a.m., $89 from 11 to 2:50 and $69 after 3 p.m.** (May 26 to September 7) ([Las Vegas National](https://www.lasvegasnational.com/rates)). Paiute's three courses, 25 minutes northwest, run about $120 and treat 13 plus players as a group with tee signs, scoring and arranged transport ([LV Paiute](https://www.lvpaiutegolf.com/); [GOLF.com](https://golf.com/travel/las-vegas-golf-courses-where-to-play/)). Boulder Creek (about $100), Angel Park ($45 to $129 by time of day, with a lighted 9 hole short course), Rhodes Ranch (under $150 with a meal and two beers), Reflection Bay (from $120) and Coyote Springs ($104 to $179 with a $50 replay) fill out a deep sub-$200 bench, while Bear's Best, Rio Secco and TPC Las Vegas sit at $160 to $230 as splurges ([LINKS Magazine](https://linksmagazine.com/best-public-golf-courses-las-vegas/); [Coyote Springs](https://www.coyotesprings.com/golf-specials/); [TigerDroppings](https://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/golf/vegas-golf/106635599/)). Bali Hai on the south Strip is convenient but reviewers call $299 overpriced and complain of no water on the course in 100 degree heat; its $129 twilight special is the only sensible way to play it ([GolfPass Bali Hai](https://www.golfpass.com/courses/16141-bali-hai-golf-club/); [Bali Hai specials](https://balihaigolfclub.com/specials)). In summer the first tee times are 5:30 to 6:30 a.m., tee-off temperatures are 75 to 82 F and early groups finish by 10 or 11 a.m. before the heat peaks ([Bali Hai blog](https://balihaigolfclub.com/?p=498)). Caveat: most Vegas course rate cards were unreachable, so figures other than Las Vegas National and Coyote Springs are 2021 to 2024 media estimates that need a GolfNow check once the 2027 window opens.

Activities are the deepest of any destination and the cheap ones are group friendly: **Battlefield Vegas packages from $125 with free Humvee pickup from Strip hotels**, Hoover Dam bus tours from $59, Grand Canyon West bus tours from $89 to $94, Speed Vegas go-kart races about $35, Topgolf bays $33 to $93 per hour behind MGM Grand, and Sphere's Postcard from Earth from $95 ([Battlefield Vegas](https://battlefieldvegas.com/); [Viator Hoover Dam](https://www.viator.com/tours/Las-Vegas/Hoover-Dam-Tour-from-Las-Vegas/d684-3951HDT); [Las Vegas Wonders Speed Vegas](https://lasvegaswonders.com/?p=9456); [Las Vegas Advisor Topgolf](https://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/things-to-do/topgolf/)). The expensive ones are the ones an all-male group most wants: dayclub covers are $30 for men with daybed minimums of $500 to $1,000 (Marquee, Tao Beach, Encore Beach Club) and nightclub tables run $1,000 to $15,000 plus with tax and gratuity adding 40 to 50 percent, and "all-male groups almost always have to pay a cover or buy a table" ([Review-Journal](https://preview.reviewjournal.com/?p=3053608); [Las Vegas Wonders nightclubs](https://lasvegaswonders.com/las-vegas-nightclub-prices/); [Discotech](https://discotech.me/las-vegas-pool-parties/)). Practically that means one dayclub afternoon at about $90 per head (cover plus a split of two daybeds) and one nightclub table at $160 to $240 per head, or skipping clubs for sportsbooks, Fremont Street and Topgolf.

Weather ranks May first and July last. NWS normals are **88.5 / 66.1 F in May, 99.4 / 75.8 in June and 104.5 / 82.0 in July**, with Excessive Heat Warnings common from late June and monsoon storms possible from mid July ([NWS Las Vegas](https://www.weather.gov/media/vef/Temperature%20Overview.pdf); [Bali Hai blog](https://balihaigolfclub.com/?p=498)). Pools and nightlife are unaffected; walking the Strip midday in July is not.

The per person math at Park MGM tier, midweek, 3 nights: lodging $306, two rounds about $300 including rental clubs and tips, dayclub $90, shooting range $140, food and drink $420 at a conservative $140 per day, ground $80, flights $280 blended, for **about $1,615**. Trimming to a Flamingo tier room and skipping rental clubs brings it to about $1,500, and swapping the steakhouse for a casual group dinner lands near $1,400. A 4 night midweek version adds $100 to $150 of room and $140 of food, so $1,600 to $1,900. A Thursday to Sunday pattern at the same hotel pushes lodging to $553 per person and the trip to $1,850 to $2,000, which is the one way Vegas fails the budget ([Las Vegas Wonders](https://lasvegaswonders.com/?p=8981); [Vegas4Locals](https://www.vegas4locals.com/resources/las-vegas-resort-fees/)). The risks are heat in June and July, weekend pricing, club minimums, a major convention or fight doubling room rates on the chosen dates (no 2027 event calendar was checked), and the group scattering across a casino floor unless three anchor events are prepaid. Vacation rentals are not a fallback here: the City of Las Vegas bans bachelor parties in short term rentals outright, Henderson fines unregistered hosts $1,000 to $2,500 per day, and Clark County licensing is under a court injunction ([Nevada Real Estate Group](https://www.nevadarealestategroup.com/blog/las-vegas-short-term-rental-rules-2026/)).

## Orlando is the cheapest golf trip but the weakest night out

Orlando's advantage is a lodging product no other destination has: 10 bedroom pool homes in ChampionsGate, Reunion, Encore and Windsor Island that sleep 22 to 33, with game rooms, home theaters and in a few cases golf simulators and duckpin bowling. A ChampionsGate 10 bedroom home sleeping 30 lists at **$1,480 per night**, which is $74 to $93 per guy per night for 16 to 20 guests before tax and cleaning, though that listing carries a one week minimum and the group must find a comparable home without one ([Emerald Kite](https://emeraldkite.com/vacation-rentals/orlando-home-1061519/); [Florida Premier Rentals](https://floridapremierrentals.com/10-bedroom-vacation-homes-orlando)). ChampionsGate homes come with the 20,000 square foot Oasis clubhouse (resort pool, lazy river, tiki bar, movie theater) and sit three minutes from the Omni's two Greg Norman courses ([Golf Breaks ChampionsGate](https://www.golfbreaks.com/en-us/vacations/orlando/villas-championsgate-resort)). For a hotel plan, Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate is the clearest fit: 36 holes on site plus a lighted par 3, an 850 foot lazy river, Eagles Edge with 30 Toptracer bays as a rain backup, a $48 plus tax resort fee, and a stated process for 10 plus room blocks through a meeting RFP ([Omni policies](https://www.omnihotels.com/hotels/orlando-championsgate/property-details/policies); [Omni golf](https://www.omnihotels.com/hotels/orlando-championsgate/golf)). Rosen Shingle Creek charges no resort fee, sits 10 minutes from MCO and has an Arnold Palmer course, but its pools are conventional; Reunion's three signature courses (Palmer, Watson, Nicklaus) are only playable by resort or Preferred Rental Program guests, with a Golf Breaks benchmark of $795 per person for 3 nights and 3 rounds including tax and fees ([Rosen Shingle Creek](https://www.rosenshinglecreek.com/); [Reunion golf](https://www.reunionresort.com/golf); [Golf Breaks Reunion](https://golfbreaks.com/en-us/vacations/orlando/reunion-resort)).

Golf is plentiful and cheap in summer. TeeTimesUSA's October 2026 snapshot shows **Omni ChampionsGate International and National from $81.88 (afternoon) and $136.47 before 2 p.m.**, Shingle Creek $96.57 to $138.66, Eagle Creek $49.52 to $97.80, Waldorf Astoria $133.12 flat, Mission Inn's El Campeon $77.62, Southern Dunes $76.62 to $87.58, and a budget tier (Kissimmee Bay, Remington, Royal St. Cloud) from $30 to $70 ([TeeTimesUSA Orlando](https://www.teetimesusa.com/orlando-golf-courses)). Disney's courses discount about 40 percent from June 1 to September 30, 2027 and 45 to 60 percent at twilight, though the base rate is not published and Lake Buena Vista closed for renovation in May 2026 with no reopening date ([Disney golf rates](https://www.golfwdw.com/courses/golf-rates); [Disney golf](https://www.golfwdw.com/)). Grand Cypress at $218.69 and Bay Hill at about $350 (lodge guests only) are over the cap ([Golf News Net Bay Hill](https://thegolfnewsnet.com/ryan_ballengee/2026/03/07/how-much-does-it-cost-to-play-golf-at-arnold-palmers-bay-hill-club-and-lodge-2026-green-fees-131770/)). Activities are inexpensive: BC Airboats 1 hour tours $54 to $61 with group accommodations for 18 plus, Revolution Adventures ATVs from $115 and clay shooting from $120, Andretti Indoor Karting Gold and Platinum packages at $109 and $139, Gatorland $34.99, and Texas de Brazil at $66.99 per person with private dining for 50 as the easiest group dinner to lock ([BC Airboats](https://www.bcairboats.com/); [Revolution Adventures](https://www.revolutionadventures.com/); [Andretti Orlando](https://andrettikarting.com/orlando/); [Texas de Brazil](https://texasdebrazil.com/locations/orlando/)). Machine Gun America is currently closed for "reloading" with no booking open ([Machine Gun America](https://www.machinegunamerica.com/)).

Flights are the cheapest of any destination: Kayak 12 month averages of **$263 from Detroit (2h 46m, June median $341), $246 from Dallas (2h 40m, June $321) and $155 from Atlanta (1h 35m, June $210)**, with Frontier nonstops on all three routes ([KAYAK DTW to MCO](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Detroit-Metropolitan-Wayne-County-DTW/Orlando-MCO); [KAYAK DFW to MCO](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Dallas-Fort-Worth-Intl-DFW/Orlando-MCO); [KAYAK ATL to MCO](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson-ATL/Orlando-MCO)). The math for an 18 man group in a $1,480 ChampionsGate home: lodging about $300 per person for 3 nights with tax and cleaning, flights $280, golf $225 with tax, two excursions $175, food and drink $405 (groceries, one steakhouse, three bar nights), ground $60, for **about $1,445, or about $1,150 tightened** (skip the steakhouse, one excursion, 20 guests); 4 nights is about $1,630, or $1,300 tightened. At Omni with an assumed $220 summer room rate, 3 nights is about $1,640 (about $1,450 with the 15 percent Escape and Save promo and one excursion dropped) and 4 nights about $1,945, but the Omni rate is an unsourced assumption that swings the total $150 to $250 ([Omni specials](https://www.omnihotels.com/hotels/orlando-championsgate/specials/unlimited-golf-stay-and-play)).

The weather is the real cost. May is the best month (Weather Spark high 86, wet season just starting); June and July bring 30 to 31 muggy days and 13 to 14 rain days per month with Visit Orlando citing 90 to 95 F highs and afternoon rain "throughout summer," so every round should be a 7 to 8 a.m. start and a 1 p.m. tee time is a coin flip against lightning ([Weather Spark Orlando](https://weatherspark.com/y/18508/Average-Weather-in-Orlando-Florida-United-States-Year-Round); [Visit Orlando weather](https://www.visitorlando.com/plan/weather/)). Hurricane risk in May to July is low; NOAA's first named storm averages June 20 and the first hurricane early to mid August ([NOAA NHC](https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/climo/)). The other risk is sprawl and vibe: ChampionsGate is 35 minutes from MCO and 35 to 45 minutes and $50 plus by rideshare from downtown bars, resort fees bundle Disney shuttles and mini golf, and nightlife is I-Drive, Pointe Orlando, Church Street and Sunset Walk rather than a club scene ([Golf Breaks ChampionsGate](https://www.golfbreaks.com/en-us/vacations/orlando/villas-championsgate-resort); [Margaritaville Orlando](https://www.margaritavilleresorts.com/margaritaville-resort-orlando)). Transport is two 12 passenger vans or four to five mid-size rentals, unless the group stays at a golf resort and skips vehicles for golf entirely.

## Myrtle Beach delivers $300 golf packages but thin flights and a dated bar scene

Myrtle Beach is the one destination where the golf package industry does the group's logistics for it. Golf Trek's Legends Stay and Play bundles **3 nights in 2 and 3 bedroom on-site condos, 3 rounds with cart plus a free afternoon round, buffet breakfast and lunch on golf days and two beers per golfer for $297 per golfer at quad occupancy, with a 4th night free** on the pay-for-3 offer through December 31, 2026 (2027 is "subject to season" and requires a quote); the Golf Trail package in Ellington or XL condos is $299 on the same terms ([SCGolf.com 27255](https://www.scgolf.com/stayandplay/27255); [SCGolf.com 27256](https://www.scgolf.com/stayandplay/27256)). Barefoot Resort villas in North Myrtle Beach are the premium golf lodging, quoted at $139 to $299 per golfer per night by season, with a 3 night, 3 round package from $505 and a free shuttle to the oceanfront ([GolfTroop](https://www.golftroop.com/carolinas/myrtle-beach/golf-packages/myrtle-beach-barefoot-golf-resort-stay-and-play-package); [SCGolf.com 28796](https://scgolf.com/stayandplay/28796)). Oceanfront resorts (Breakers, Dunes Village with the largest indoor water park, Kingston's Hilton and Embassy Suites, Marriott Grande Dunes, North Beach Resort) all hide rates behind booking widgets and charge resort fees of $34 to $47 per room per night; the only hard number is a 2019 Marriott Grande Dunes rate of $161 per night ([ResortFeeChecker MB](https://www.resortfeechecker.com/hotel_resort_fees_myrtle_beach_sc.html); [Golf.com 2019](https://www.golf.com/travel/trips/2019/09/14/golf-trip-caledonia-true-blue-under-1k/)). Big North Myrtle Beach houses that sleep 20 to 24 with pools exist at $670 to $1,950 per night in off-season, but every listing found bans groups, parties and student groups and requires a 25 plus renter, so the packagers' golf-group villas (Myrtle Beach Golf Authority lists 6 and 8 bedroom rentals sleeping up to 20) are the safer route ([VRBO 3584432](https://vrbo.com/3584432); [Myrtle Beach Golf Authority](https://www.myrtlebeachgolfauthority.com/)).

The golf is the best value on the list. Caledonia and True Blue, Golf Digest's number 2 and 4 public courses in Myrtle Beach, post **summer specials (June 22 to August 30) of $129 / $99 / $79 and $109 / $89 / $59 for morning, afternoon and twilight**, and Barefoot's 2027 walk-on rates fall from $225 to $235 in late April to $149 (Thursday to Sunday morning) and $135 (Wednesday) from May 17 to June 6, 2027 ([Caledonia rates](https://caledoniagolfandfishclub.com/rates-specials/); [True Blue rates](https://www.truebluegolf.com/rates-specials/); [Barefoot walk-on rates](https://barefootgolf.com/walk-on-rates/); [Golf Digest MB ranking](https://www.golfdigest.com/places-to-play/collections/best-public-golf-courses-myrtle-beach)). Caledonia books groups of 2 to 100 and packager quote forms go to 24 or 48 golfers, so five foursomes is routine ([Caledonia](https://caledoniagolfandfishclub.com/rates-specials/)). TPC Myrtle Beach, King's North, Tidewater and Grande Dunes publish no rate cards; the figures found (Tidewater $221 late afternoon in August 2026, King's North $209 morning in an undated widget) suggest they top $200 at rack rate and belong inside a package. The Dunes Club, the top ranked course, is semi-private and effectively unavailable to a 20 man group ([Dunes Club](https://www.thedunesclub.com/default.aspx?ns=true&p=dynamicmodule&pageID=130&ssid=100186)). Early May is near peak pricing; **May 17 onward is shoulder and June 22 onward is the trough**, which is the single biggest cost lever here.

Activities are cheap and group sized: shared headboat fishing $35 to $55 per person on Hurricane Fleet or Voyager, private nearshore charters $450 to $650 per boat for 4 to 6, jet skis $189 per ski per hour for up to 3 riders, Broadway Grand Prix all-ride wristbands $49.99 online, SkyWheel from $18, Topgolf bays from $42 per hour, and a Pelicans pregame picnic at $26.88 with a 15 person minimum ([StateOutdoors](https://stateoutdoors.org/fishing/myrtle-beach-half-day-fishing-trips-guide/); [Expedia jet ski](https://www.expedia.com/things-to-do/a.a52632101.activity-details); [Broadway Grand Prix](https://www.broadwaygrandprix.com/tickets); [MiLB Pelicans](https://www.milb.com/myrtle-beach/tickets/group-experiences)). Nightlife is Celebrity Square at Broadway at the Beach (dueling pianos, frozen drink bars, three dance clubs) and the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk crawl (Wicked Tuna, Dead Dog Saloon, Wahoo's, Drunken Jack's); the most recent golfer-oriented guide dates from 2015, updated 2019 ([MyrtleBeachGolfTrips Night Moves](https://www.myrtlebeachgolftrips.com/news/night-moves-where-visiting-myrtle-beach-golfers-can-cut-loose/); [Compass Cove MarshWalk](https://www.compasscove.com/news/a-night-out-on-the-marshwalk-bar-hopping-in-murrells-inlet/)). Weather is the mildest of the eastern options: NOAA normals of about 78 / 62 in mid May rising to 87 / 73 by late June and 88 / 74 in July, with muggy days jumping from 2 in May to 13 in July and June the wettest month ([NWS Wilmington normals](https://weather.gov/media/ilm/climate/1991-2020normalsNorthMyrtleBeach.pdf); [WeatherSpark MB](https://weatherspark.com/y/19744/Average-Weather-in-Myrtle-Beach-South-Carolina-United-States-Year-Round)).

Flights are the weakness. Delta runs **one daily DTW to MYR nonstop** (about 2 hours, Kayak average $359 to $397, June $399), American runs one daily DFW to MYR regional jet (2h 39m, average $423 to $480 with May at $372 but June $600 and July $645 on FlightsFrom's data), and Atlanta has 3 to 4 daily Delta nonstops at 1h 13m averaging $300 to $338, or a 349 mile, 6.5 hour drive ([KAYAK DTW to MYR](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Detroit-Metropolitan-Wayne-County-DTW/Myrtle-Beach-Metropolitan-Area-MYR); [FlightsFrom DFW-MYR](https://www.flightsfrom.com/DFW-MYR); [FlightsFrom ATL-MYR](https://www.flightsfrom.com/ATL-MYR); [Rome2Rio](https://www.rome2rio.com/s/Atlanta/Myrtle-Beach-SC)). Spirit ceased all operations on May 2, 2026, removing the budget Detroit option, and Southwest from Dallas Love Field is the Dallas alternative ([Visit Myrtle Beach Spirit update](https://www.visitmyrtlebeach.com/plan/maps-transportation/spirit-airlines/)). A 10 man Detroit contingent on a single 73 to 110 seat daily flight is a real capacity risk and must book early. The math for a June condo package: package $300, optional Caledonia upgrade about $80 net, fishing $55, Topgolf $25, food and drink $445, five rental SUVs $90, rideshare $30, misc $75, for about $1,020 to $1,100 before flights, so **all-in 3 nights of about $1,350 from Atlanta (or $1,125 driving), $1,500 from Detroit and $1,550 from Dallas**; 4 nights with the free 4th night is about $1,465 / $1,615 / $1,665. A Barefoot villa 4 night late May plan overshoots at $1,900 to $2,100 ([SCGolf.com](https://www.scgolf.com/stayandplay/27255); [Golf.com 2019](https://www.golf.com/travel/trips/2019/09/14/golf-trip-caledonia-true-blue-under-1k/)). Rental vehicles are mandatory because courses stretch 15 miles south (TPC, Caledonia) to 20 miles north (Tidewater) of the city; three to five minivans plus rideshare for Broadway and MarshWalk nights.

## Nashville has the best night out and the worst hotel bill

Nashville's problem is not finding rooms, it is paying for them. The best real-world indicator of what a 16 to 20 man block costs is a May 5 to 7, 2026 conference block at downtown hotels: **Omni $349, JW Marriott $359, Renaissance $329, Westin $309, Sheraton Grand $305, Hilton and Embassy Suites $309, and Moxy, AC, SpringHill Suites and Residence Inn at $275 to $279 per night**, all before Nashville's 9.25 percent sales tax, 7 percent occupancy tax and $2.50 nightly fee ([2026 ULI Spring Meeting hotel list](https://spring.uli.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/01/2026-ULI-Spring-Meeting-Hotels-1.pdf); [GetCostIdea Nashville](https://getcostidea.com/average-hotel-cost-bachelorette-party-nashville/)). Destination fees stack on top: Omni and W $40.86, Virgin $37.32, Westin $32.93, Hyatt Centric and Margaritaville $29.19, Sheraton Grand $27.44, Renaissance $25, Graduate $23.49, Thompson $30 ([ResortFeeChecker Nashville](https://www.resortfeechecker.com/hotel_resort_fees_nashville_tn.html); [Thompson Nashville policies](https://www.hyatt.com/thompson-hotels/en-US/bnath-thompson-nashville/policies)). A $300 two queen room therefore lands at about **$383 per room per night all-in, or $192 per guy doubled up**, roughly double the Vegas midweek figure. Engine's advertised rate data confirms there is no cheap summer month (May $196, June $215, July $185 against a $188 city average) ([Engine Nashville](https://engine.com/data/hotel-prices/nashville-tn)). Virgin Hotels Nashville is the one downtown hotel with a real pool scene, but it is 21 plus to check in, valet only at $58 per night, has just 37 double queen rooms out of 262, and its 14th floor Pool Club cabanas carry food and beverage minimums and book 2 to 3 weeks ahead; non-guests can buy a day pass from $40 ([Virgin Hotels Nashville FAQs](https://virginhotels.com/nashville/faqs); [ResortPass Pool Club](https://www.resortpass.com/experiences/day-pass-3230478)). Gaylord Opryland is the only true resort, 9 miles from Broadway with a $30 resort fee, $37 self parking and a SoundWaves water park that standard rooms do not include; a verified July 2026 snapshot put a standard room at $490 per night including the fee, though a Kayak snapshot showing $170 weeknights and $237 weekends conflicts with it and should be checked on Marriott.com for June 2027 ([TakeTravelInfo Opryland](https://taketravelinfo.com/opryland-hotel-how-much-for-a-night/); [Kayak Gaylord Opryland](https://www.kayak.com/Nashville-Hotels-Gaylord-Opryland-Resort-Convention-Center.68616.ksp)). Rentals do not solve it: Metro Nashville caps every short term rental permit at **12 occupants** (two per bedroom plus four), requires a 21 plus renter, allows only one party per rental and revokes permits after three violations, and new non owner occupied permits are issued only in mixed-use, commercial and downtown zones ([Nashville.gov STR rules](https://www.nashville.gov/departments/codes/short-term-rentals/operation-rules-and-requirements); [Nashville.gov permit types](https://www.nashville.gov/departments/codes/short-term-rentals/permit-types)). The "sleeps 20" listings are side by side townhomes sold together with "no parties or events" in the rules, such as the East Nashville "Bachelorette Crib" complex and a $1,499 per night West End double unit ([Airbnb 34576589](https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/34576589); [Jetset Christina](https://www.jetsetchristina.com/the-best-airbnbs-for-nashville-bachelorette-parties/)). Nashville is also the number one bachelorette city in the country, with The BACH app projecting about 30,000 bookings in 2022, and police have investigated multiple crimes targeting bachelorette groups at rentals, so the compliant plan is a hotel block of 10 to 12 rooms, not a house ([Axios](https://www.axios.com/2022/08/12/bachelor-bachelorette-parties-nashville-scottsdale-expense-travel); [FOX 17 Nashville](https://fox17.com/news/local/nashville-police-investigating-at-least-four-crimes-targeting-bachelorette-parties-short-term-rentals-airbnb-girls-trip-middle-tennessee-music-city-destination-crime-alert)).

Golf is solid value, not a destination in itself. Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory, 20 to 25 minutes northeast of downtown, is the clear anchor: **President's Reserve posts 2026 rates of $85 to $88 Monday to Wednesday, $98 to $100 Thursday, $115 Friday and Saturday, $110 Sunday and $62 after 4 p.m.**, and General's Retreat runs $75 to $77 Monday to Wednesday, $100 Friday to Sunday and $52 after 4 p.m., with Ping rental clubs $60 per day and free full-service outing setup (scorecards, cart signs, scoreboards) for groups through 615-847-4001 ([Hermitage President's Reserve rates](https://hermitagegolf.com/pr-rates/); [Hermitage General's Retreat rates](https://hermitagegolf.com/gr-rates/); [Hermitage tournaments](https://hermitagegolf.com/tournaments/)). Golf Digest panelists rate President's Reserve 3.8 and General's Retreat 3.5, which is the ceiling for public golf here; the region's top courses (Troubadour, Vanderbilt Legends, Tennessee Grasslands, Richland, Belle Meade) are all private ([Golf Digest Nashville](https://www.golfdigest.com/places-to-play/collections/nashville); [Golf Digest Troubadour](https://www.golfdigest.com/courses/tn/troubadour-golf-and-field-club)). Gaylord Springs next to Opryland lists at $99 plus on GolfNow with 2026 reviewers citing "$125 plus" rounds, slow pace and cart-path-only after rain, a 2.8 Golf Digest rating, and a FAQ that says "bachelor parties and informal group outings are welcome" with a strict collared shirt dress code ([GolfPass Gaylord Springs](https://www.golfpass.com/travel-advisor/courses/12617-gaylord-springs-golf-links); [Gaylord Springs FAQs](https://www.gaylordsprings.com/faqs)). Metro's municipal courses (Harpeth Hills, Ted Rhodes, Two Rivers) are **$50 riding on weekdays and $60 on weekends with $24 rental clubs**, Harpeth Hills rated 3.0 as "strong value" at nearly 6,900 yards ([Nashville.gov Harpeth Hills](https://www.nashville.gov/departments/parks/golf-courses/harpeth-hills-golf-course); [Nashville.gov Two Rivers](https://www.nashville.gov/departments/parks/golf-courses/two-rivers-golf-course)). Old Fort in Murfreesboro (7,214 yards, slope 139, 18Birdies 4.5 from 436 reviews) and Franklin Bridge (GolfPass 4.6, Harpeth River on 15 holes, carts about $50) are the sleepers 30 to 40 minutes out, but neither publishes a readable rate card ([18Birdies Old Fort](https://18birdies.com/golf-courses/club/af2b1290-86ac-11e4-8c28-020000005b00/old-fort-golf-course); [GolfPass Franklin Bridge](https://www.golfpass.com/courses/1518-franklin-bridge-golf-club/)). The two round plan is President's Reserve on a Friday or Saturday at $115 booked as an outing, then General's Retreat or Harpeth Hills on a weekday morning at $50 to $77. A January 2024 ranking of golf-centric bachelor cities noted Nashville was absent from the top 25 because of its "Play" score, which is the honest summary ([LawnStarter](https://www.lawnstarter.com/blog/?p=107664)).

Activities are the second deepest on the list after Vegas and almost all land at $35 to $70 a head. Broadway covers run **$10 to $20 per bar after 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday ($40 to $80 for a crawl), cocktails $14 to $18, and Saturday night surge rideshare $35 to $50** ([Stay blog Nashville guide](https://blog.staywithstay.com/nashville-bachelorette-party-guide/)). Nashville Pedal Tavern sells a private bike for $520 (6 to 15 riders, 90 minutes, BYO beer and seltzer, Midtown to Lower Broadway), so two bikes for 16 to 20 is $35 to $43 each ([Nashville Pedal Tavern](https://www.nashvillepedaltavern.com/)). Pontoon Saloon's BACH cruise on the Cumberland is $50 to $55 per person plus tax and tip with beer and seltzers included, and private boats for 17 to 47 are quoted on request ([Nashville Guru Pontoon Saloon](https://nashvilleguru.com/130836/pontoon-saloon-party-boat-cruises)). Percy Priest Lake pontoons at Nashville Shores run $371.55 weekday to $477.10 weekend for a full day per 8 person boat, about $47 to $60 a head across two boats ([Nashville Shores](https://nashvilleshores.com/lake-rentals/pontoon-boat-rentals/)). The Nashville Sounds' Paradise Park is **$62 per person for 20 to 35 guests with a hospitality host and a half keg**, walkable from downtown ([MiLB Sounds group outings](https://www.milb.com/nashville/news/sounds-announce-group-outings-for-2025-season-on-sale-today)). Bad Axe Throwing is $45.99 for a 2 hour private lane with a coach, Nelson's Green Brier distillery tours are $25 with a 16 person cap per tour, Outpost Armory lanes are $30 per hour with $60 machine gun rentals and a $159.99 Barrett 50 BMG experience, and the Jack Daniel's bus day trip is $129 and seven hours, which burns a golf day ([Expedia Bad Axe](https://www.expedia.com/things-to-do/axe-throwing-experience-with-private-lane-and-coach-in-nashville.a45947584.activity-details); [Nelson's Green Brier FAQ](https://greenbrierdistillery.com/pages/faq); [Outpost Armory prices](https://www.theoutpostarmory.com/prices/); [Free Tours by Foot Jack Daniel's](https://freetoursbyfoot.com/jack-daniels-distillery-tickets/)). Kayne Prime has private rooms for 14 to 106 and Jeff Ruby's for 12, 16 and 66, with minimums quoted by phone; Topgolf Nashville on the East Bank did not render prices ([Nashville Guru private dining](https://nashvilleguru.com/44198/private-dining-nashville); [Topgolf Nashville](https://topgolf.com/us/nashville/)). The date trap is **CMA Fest, June 10 to 13, 2027, debuting at the new Nissan Stadium with about 100,000 fans per day**; avoid June 9 to 14 ([WSMV](https://www.wsmv.com/2026/08/14/cma-fest-2027-tickets-sale-festival-prepares-new-nissan-stadium-debut/)). Nashville SC's 2027 schedule is not out; the 2026 slate had May home matches and none in June or July because of the World Cup ([Nashville Guru Nashville SC](https://nashvilleguru.com/105069/nashville-sc-home-game-schedule)).

Weather makes May the pick. Normals are **78 to 79 / 57 to 59 F in May with 6 muggy days, 86 / 65 to 67 in June with 16.5, and 89 / 69 to 71 in July with 23.4 muggy days**, and each month has about 12 wet days, mostly afternoon storms in June and July ([Weather Spark Nashville](https://weatherspark.com/y/14688/Average-Weather-in-Nashville-Tennessee-United-States-Year-Round); [US Climate Data Nashville](https://www.usclimatedata.com/climate/nashville/tennessee/united-states/ustn0357)). May has the most rain by volume (5.5 inches) but a quarter of July's humidity.

Flights and ground are the best on the list. **DTW to BNA is 1h 46m with Delta and Southwest nonstops (28 and 20 weekly) at a $308 average, June median $351, July $327; DFW is 1h 55m on American (67 weekly) at a $288 average, June $338; ATL is 1h 12m on Delta and Southwest at a $308 average with May the cheapest month at $235**, and Atlanta guys can drive the 250 miles in about four hours ([Kayak DTW to BNA](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Detroit-Metropolitan-Wayne-County-DTW/Nashville-Intl-BNA); [Kayak DFW to BNA](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Dallas-Fort-Worth-DFW/Nashville-Intl-BNA); [Kayak ATL to BNA](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Hartsfield-Jackson-ATL/Nashville-Intl-BNA); [Turo Nashville to Atlanta drive](https://turo.com/blog/wayfaring/nashville-to-atlanta-drive/)). Spirit was not a nonstop operator on any of the three routes in the Kayak data, so its May 2026 shutdown changes nothing here. BNA to downtown is 8 miles and $15 to $19 by UberX, downtown is walkable, and no rental car is needed except two minivans or two Uber XLs each way for the Hermitage golf days ([RideWise BNA](https://getridewise.com/airports/bna)).

The math at a mid-range downtown hotel ($300 base, $383 all-in, two per room): lodging $575, two rounds plus range and golf-day rideshare $212, pedal tavern and BACH cruise $110, food and drink $650 at $185 per day (one $130 steakhouse night, bar covers and $18 cocktails), flights $340, airport Uber $10, for **about $1,900 for 3 nights and $2,270 for 4**. Four guys per two queen room cuts lodging to $288 and the trip to about $1,610 for 3 nights and $1,885 for 4, and only by also holding food and drink to $140 a day does Nashville reach about $1,450, which is the single sourced path to the budget. Gaylord Opryland at the $490 July snapshot is about $2,210 for 3 nights and $2,680 for 4 at two per room; two adjacent permitted rental units at $1,499 per night plus tax and cleaning land near $1,660 and $1,960 ([ULI 2026 hotel list](https://spring.uli.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/01/2026-ULI-Spring-Meeting-Hotels-1.pdf); [TakeTravelInfo](https://taketravelinfo.com/opryland-hotel-how-much-for-a-night/); [Jetset Christina](https://www.jetsetchristina.com/the-best-airbnbs-for-nashville-bachelorette-parties/)). The risks are hotel cost, CMA Fest week, bachelorette saturation (a 20 man group will not stand out, which is both the appeal and the downside of $18 drinks and lines), July humidity, STR enforcement on any rental plan, unpublished rooftop table minimums at the celebrity bars, and the fact that the golf is a 3.8 rated course rather than a bucket list one. Booking notes: ask Hermitage's outing desk for 4 to 5 consecutive Friday morning times with the free tournament setup; request a 10 to 12 room courtesy block at a Moxy, AC or Hyatt Centric tier hotel and compare it with the public rate; reserve the Pool Club or a Sounds Paradise Park date 3 weeks out; and get the Pontoon Saloon private boat quote for 17 plus in writing.

## Austin is the best lake party on the list but needs five cars and breaks budget at Omni

Austin's natural anchor is Omni Barton Creek, and it is the first thing to rule out. Kayak's trailing average is **$463 to $492 per night with Deluxe two queen rooms at $356 to $383 and up to $799**, plus a $47.70 resort fee, and the four courses (Fazio Foothills, Fazio Canyons, Coore Crenshaw Cliffside, Palmer Lakeside) are "exclusive for members of Barton Creek Country Club and registered guests," with per-player rates unpublished and only a 2019 benchmark of about $190 per round ([Kayak Omni Barton Creek](https://www.kayak.com/Austin-Hotels-Omni-Barton-Creek-Resort-and-Spa-Austin.3696.ksp); [ResortFeeChecker Austin](https://www.resortfeechecker.com/hotel_resort_fees_austin_tx.html); [Omni golf rates](https://omnihotels.com/hotels/austin-barton-creek/golf/rates); [GOLF.com Omni package](https://golf.com/news/4-rounds-2-nights-omni-barton-creek-resort/)). Its Golf Getaway package (one round per guest per night, $100 dining credit, breakfast) is sized for "three to nine guest rooms," so an 8 to 10 room group gets routed to group sales, and tournaments for 12 plus run through an RFP ([Omni Golf Getaway](https://www.omnihotels.com/hotels/austin-barton-creek/golf/golf-getaway); [Omni Buddy Golf](https://www.omnihotels.com/hotels/austin-barton-creek/golf/buddy-golf-packages)). The budget alternatives are better fits anyway. Lakeway Resort and Spa sits on Lake Travis with a marina, adults-only pool with swim-up bar and a water slide, at **$256 weeknights and $308 weekends (June is its peak at about $329) with two queen rooms at $201 to $315 and a $56.90 resort fee** ([Kayak Lakeway Resort](https://www.kayak.com/Lakeway-Hotels-Lakeway-Resort-And-Spa.37426.ksp); [ResortFeeChecker Austin](https://www.resortfeechecker.com/hotel_resort_fees_austin_tx.html)). Horseshoe Bay Resort, an hour northwest on Lake LBJ, runs $341 to $361 typical with a $45 resort fee that includes golf bag storage and practice access, limits individual bookings to 9 rooms so 10 plus triggers group policy, and sells its three Robert Trent Jones Sr. courses in Golfbreaks packages "from $565" ([Kayak Horseshoe Bay](https://www.kayak.com/Horseshoe-Bay-Hotels-Horseshoe-Bay-Resort.2052695.ksp); [Horseshoe Bay policies](https://www.hsbresort.com/resort-policies); [Golfbreaks Horseshoe Bay](https://www.golfbreaks.com/en-us/vacations/austin/horseshoe-bay-resort/)). Downtown, Hotel Van Zandt on Rainey Street is counterintuitively cheapest in July at about $231 average with a rooftop pool and a $40.95 fee, half a mile from Sixth Street, while Hyatt Lost Pines (1,000 foot lazy river, Wolfdancer on site, 23 miles east) peaks in July at about $611 and is out ([Kayak Hotel Van Zandt](https://www.kayak.com/Austin-Hotels-Kimpton-Hotel-Van-Zandt.2260061.ksp); [Kayak Lost Pines](https://www.kayak.com/Cedar-Creek-Hotels-Hyatt-Regency-Lost-Pines-Resort-And-Spa.150140.ksp)). The house play is real here, unlike Nashville or New Orleans: two confirmed Lake Travis listings in Leander sleep 20 with pools and dock access, one marked "Events allowed" and the other allowing parties case by case with a 30 plus primary renter, a $5,000 hold and a 50 foot boat slip, though both warn the reservoir "rises and falls with drought" and sit 20 to 37 miles from downtown ([Expedia Lake Travis h33311831](https://www.expedia.com/cn/Austin-Hotels-Austin-Lake-Travis-Pool-Waterfront-Hill-Country-Retreat-2-Acres-Sleeps-20.h33311831.Hotel-Information); [VRBO 2922178](https://vrbo.com/2922178)). Austin's 2025 STR overhaul (licenses required, two per site, platforms delisting unlicensed homes from July 1, 2026) does not reach Leander or Lago Vista, but neither listing showed a nightly price without dates ([City of Austin STR](https://austintexas.gov/str)).

Golf is cheap at the bottom and unpublished at the top. The City of Austin's four full-length municipals (Lions, Jimmy Clay, Roy Kizer, Morris Williams) charge **$35 Monday to Thursday, $41 Friday and $44 weekends for 18 holes plus $18 per person cart**, with sunset rates of $28, cards only ([Austin Parks golf fees](https://www.austintexas.gov/golfatx/fees-memberships)). The mid tier is priced only by reviewers: Falconhead (7,181 yards, slope 137) at "north of $150 for a weekend round" with a $35 cart and a value score of 3.4, Avery Ranch (slope 138) with one reviewer paying $190 and another saying it "should be a municipal public course for $70," and Wolfdancer at Lost Pines at about $138 to $150 plus with no resort stay required ([GolfPass Falconhead](https://www.golfpass.com/courses/33-falconhead-golf-club/); [GolfPass Avery Ranch](https://www.golfpass.com/courses/15199-avery-ranch-golf-club/); [GolfPass Lost Pines](https://www.golfpass.com/travel-advisor/resorts/texas/hyatt-regency-lost-pines/?page=7)). Horseshoe Bay's Ram Rock is "packages only, please call" ([TeeTimesUSA Ram Rock](https://www.teetimesusa.com/horseshoe-bay-golf-courses/horseshoe-bay---ram-rock-golf-course)). The two round plan under the cap is one muni at $62 with cart plus one premium round at about $175, roughly $250 per person, or $125 for two munis; an Omni stay implies $175 to $225 per Fazio round in peak season, which breaches the cap unless the package bundles it. Munis take 4 to 5 consecutive times online; the premium courses need a group sales call, and the 7 to 9 a.m. window is the most contested in June and July.

Activities are where Austin earns its score. Lake Travis party barges are the signature day: the 34 foot Lakewind double decker with slide is **$250 per hour Monday to Thursday, $312 Friday and Sunday and $400 Saturday with a 4 hour Saturday minimum and a mandatory 20 percent captain fee**, so a Saturday for 20 guys is about $1,920 ($96 each) and a Friday about $1,500 ($75 each); a captained Tahoe Funship (14 passengers) is $200 per hour weekdays and $300 Saturdays with $20 marina parking, and Keep Austin Wet quoted a 3 hour Party Barge for up to 25 at $600 in 2022 ([Boatsetter Lakewind](https://www.boatsetter.com/boats/zvvmsmz); [GetMyBoat Tahoe Funship](https://www.getmyboat.com/trips/6KPl044K); [Community Impact Keep Austin Wet](https://communityimpact.com/lake-travis-westlake/business/lake-travis-business-keep-austin-wet-celebrates-10-years-of-creating-boating-experiences/)). A group over one boat's rated capacity needs a second pontoon, which pushes the day toward $150 a head. Lake Travis Zipline Adventures' 3 hour tour is $127 to $138, San Marcos River tubing is $25 to $30 with shuttle (alcohol allowed on the float), COTA karting starts at about $35 per 10 minute race (currently open Monday to Wednesday evenings only), The Range at Austin is $25 per lane hour plus $10 per extra shooter, Round Rock Express tickets start at $17 and Austin FC from about $15 to $60 ([Groupon Lake Travis Zipline](https://www.groupon.com/biz/austin/lake-travis-zipline-adventures); [Visit San Marcos tubing](https://www.visitsanmarcos.com/things-to-do/outdoors-and-nature/tubing/); [COTA Karting](https://circuitoftheamericas.com/karting/); [Guns.com Austin ranges](https://www.guns.com/news/2020/08/11/5-cool-gun-ranges-in-the-austin-texas-area); [TickPick Round Rock Express](https://www.tickpick.com/buy-round-rock-express-vs-reno-aces-tickets-dell-diamond-7-31-26-7pm/7410427/); [Hellotickets Austin FC](https://www.hellotickets.com/en-en/us/austin/sports/austin-fc-tickets/385760)). Hippie Hollow ($8, clothing optional) should be skipped. The Hill Country loop (Salt Lick BYOB, Treaty Oak, Jester King) is a full day 45 minutes out that needs a charter bus or sober drivers; Franklin Barbecue means a 7 a.m. line ([Axios Austin barbecue and brewery guide](https://www.axios.com/local/austin/2023/08/18/austin-beer-barbecue-brewery-tour-guide); [Travis County Hippie Hollow](https://parks.traviscountytx.gov/parks/hippie-hollow)). Terry Black's and Salt Lick absorb 20 without a reservation at $40 to $60 a head; Perry's or Jeffrey's means a private room and a per-head minimum at $100 to $150 plus.

Weather is Scottsdale-grade heat with humidity. **May averages 84 / 66 F with 9 rainy days, June 91 / 72 with "very high" heat and humidity, and July 95 / 73**, which means routine afternoons at 97 to 100 F and mandatory 7 to 9 a.m. tee times booked 90 to 120 days out ([Weather2Travel Austin](https://www.weather2travel.com/climate-guides/united-states/texas/austin-tx.php)). May is the clear pick for golf comfort, but it is also the wettest of the three months, so Topgolf, karting or a range should be held as the rain plan.

Flights are the structural weakness for Detroit. **DTW to AUS has a single nonstop carrier, Delta (27 weekly, about 3h 15m), at a $402 twelve month average with a $328 to $530 typical range; ATL to AUS averages $252 (May about $296) on Delta, Southwest and Frontier at 2h 33m**; the Dallas contingent either drives about 195 to 200 miles on I-35 in about three hours or flies Southwest from Love Field for $58 to $77 one way ([Kayak DTW to AUS](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Detroit-Metropolitan-Wayne-County-DTW/Austin-Bergstrom-AUS); [Kayak ATL to AUS](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson-ATL/Austin-Bergstrom-AUS); [Southwest DAL to AUS](https://www.southwest.com/en/flights/flights-from-dallas-to-austin)). Kayak publishes no June or July median on either route, so the Detroit number is a 12 month average, not a summer quote. AUS to downtown is 7 to 8 miles and $18 to $40 by rideshare ([Points With a Crew AUS](https://www.pointswithacrew.com/the-cheapest-and-best-way-from-austin-airport-aus-to-downtown-austin/)). Rental cars are unavoidable: golf, the Hudson Bend marinas (25 miles from downtown), Hill Country breweries and Lost Pines are 20 to 60 minutes apart, so plan four or five SUVs plus Ubers for Sixth Street and Rainey nights, about $75 to $100 per person for 3 to 4 days.

The math, 16 guys. Omni at a $450 two queen rate plus fee and an estimated 17 percent tax is $287 per person per night, so **3 nights is about $2,275 from Detroit ($2,145 from Atlanta) and 4 nights about $2,710** with two Omni rounds, a boat day and one excursion. A Lake Travis house modeled at a placeholder $2,000 per night plus $500 cleaning and 12 percent tax ($455 per person for 3 nights), one muni plus one premium round, boat day, zipline or tubing, $100 per day food with some cooking and car share, comes to **about $1,650 from Detroit, $1,520 from Atlanta and $1,410 with two muni rounds and Atlanta flights; 4 nights is about $1,790 to $1,915**. Lakeway Resort at $300 base is about $1,880 from Detroit and $1,755 from Atlanta for 3 nights ([Kayak Omni](https://www.kayak.com/Austin-Hotels-Omni-Barton-Creek-Resort-and-Spa-Austin.3696.ksp); [Kayak Lakeway](https://www.kayak.com/Lakeway-Hotels-Lakeway-Resort-And-Spa.37426.ksp); [Austin golf fees](https://www.austintexas.gov/golfatx/fees-memberships)). The house rate is the unsourced swing factor (every $100 per night moves the total about $21 per person). The risks are heat, Lake Travis water level (61 percent full in May 2022 and 37 percent in March 2015, but 105 percent full with floodgates open in July 2026, so 2027 depends on winter rain), the drive-everywhere geography with a designated driver every night, strict boat cancellation terms (non-refundable within 14 days on the Lakewind), and the Omni price plus guests-only golf rule ([FOX Weather Lake Travis](https://www.foxweather.com/weather-news/lake-travis-capacity-texas-floods-tropical-storm-bertha-july-2026); [KXAN Lake Travis 2022](https://digital-release.kxan.com/?p=1354468)). Booking notes: message both Lake Travis hosts about a bachelor group before paying, enter dates to get real nightly rates, book the barge for a Friday rather than Saturday to dodge the 4 hour minimum and $400 rate, request an Omni Golf Getaway quote at 512-329-4018 only if the group raises its ceiling, and avoid Memorial Day and July 4 weekends when lake rentals peak.

## Tampa and St. Pete have the strongest golf anchor but the stormiest afternoons

Tampa Bay is the only new destination with a top-100 course that gets cheap in summer and a resort built to host golf groups. Innisbrook in Palm Harbor has four courses, six pools with the Loch Ness water slides, a **$45 nightly amenity fee that covers parking and the on-property tram, Deluxe two queen rooms that averaged $149 in May on Kayak ($163 weeknights, $136 weekends, from $121)**, condo-style 2 and 3 bedroom suites, and a formal program for groups of 12 or more golfers with a dedicated golf service manager and "upgraded accommodations with a larger space to gather after rounds" ([Innisbrook amenities fee](https://www.innisbrookgolfresort.com/stay/resort-amenities-fee); [Kayak Innisbrook](https://www.kayak.com/Palm-Harbor-Hotels-Innisbrook-A-Salamander-Golf-and-Spa-Resort.14340.ksp); [Innisbrook golf groups](https://www.innisbrookgolfresort.com/golf/golf-groups)). Its Summer Golf Group Offer (stays June 1 to September 30, two night minimum) includes a Copperhead round plus a free same day replay on Island or South at special summer rates, and the July offer let a certificate holder bring three others at **$150 plus tax per person on Copperhead**, against a $500 peak rack rate ([Innisbrook golf groups](https://www.innisbrookgolfresort.com/golf/golf-groups); [Golf News Net Copperhead](https://thegolfnewsnet.com/ryan_ballengee/2024/03/18/how-much-does-it-cost-to-play-golf-at-innisbrook-resort-and-the-copperhead-course-128604)). Package math is the cleanest on the list: GolfPass sells 3 nights and 3 rounds (South, Island and Copperhead) with breakfast, taxes and resort fees from **$285 per person per night in June to September** ($435 in fall and $569 in winter), and UnderPar's 2026 summer packages priced 2 nights and 2 rounds for two guests in a two queen suite at $905 to $990 on South and Island and $1,105 to $1,190 with Copperhead, so Copperhead adds about $100 a head ([GolfPass Innisbrook package](https://www.golfpass.com/travel-advisor/golf-packages/florida-golf-packages/innisbrook-golf-resort-stay-play-package/); [UnderPar Innisbrook](https://www.underpar.com/courses/innisbrook-golf-resort)). Saddlebrook in Wesley Chapel bundles a round, breakfast, valet and resort fee into a Stay and Play with no published price and now advertises 27 holes rather than its historic 36 ([Saddlebrook packages](https://www.saddlebrook.com/special-packages)). The beach alternative costs about double: Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach averages **$322 weeknights with Deluxe two queens at $211 to $378, a $35 resort fee and $42 per day valet only**, 300 yards from Pier 60; TradeWinds Island Grand on St. Pete Beach charges a $55 amenity fee for five pools and the High Tide Slide and has a group code field but no captured rate; the Vinoy in downtown St. Pete has no resort fee but verified stays of $386 to $608 ([Kayak Wyndham Grand Clearwater](https://www.kayak.com/Clearwater-Beach-Hotels-Wyndham-Grand-Clearwater-Beach.2651127.ksp); [Wyndham Grand hotel info](https://www.wyndhamgrandclearwater.com/hotel-info); [TradeWinds amenities](https://tradewindsresort.com/island-grand-beach-resort/resort/amenities); [HotelPlanner Vinoy](https://www.hotelplanner.com/Hotels/53455/Reservations-The-Vinoy-Resort-Golf-Club-Autograph-Collection-St-Petersburg-501-5th-Ave-Ne-33701)). The one beach house plan is dead here: Clearwater bans rentals under 31 days in residential districts, St. Pete Beach limits them to three per year outside tourist-commercial zones, the City of St. Petersburg caps short stays at three per year, and the big inland homes (a Lutz villa marketed to 26 guests) state "onsite parties or group events are strictly prohibited" ([Shane Vanderson STR rules Tampa Bay 2026](https://shanevanderson.com/blog/short-term-rental-rules-in-tampa-bay-for-2026); [Travelocity Lutz villa](https://www.travelocity.com/Tampa-Hotels-Entire-Pool-Villa-Spacious-Tropical-Escape-26-Guests.h96980193.Hotel-Information)). Split condos in a Gulf Boulevard tourist-commercial building or Innisbrook's 2 and 3 bedroom suites are the realistic group lodging.

Golf under $200 is anchored by Copperhead and then thins quickly on verified numbers. Copperhead (par 71, 7,209 yards, slope 142, Valspar Championship host) is $150 plus tax under the summer offers or about $100 over the Island and South rate inside a package; Island (slope 144) and South come inside every package ([GolfTroop Innisbrook](https://www.golftroop.com/florida/tampa/golf-packages/tampa-fl-innisbrook-ultimate-stay-and-play-golf-package); [UnderPar](https://www.underpar.com/courses/innisbrook-golf-resort)). **Mangrove Bay, St. Petersburg's municipal, posts June 1 to October 31, 2026 rates of $34 for 18 holes, $23 twilight, $12 cart and $30 to $50 rental clubs plus 7 percent tax**, about $49 all-in with a cart ([City of St. Petersburg golf rates](https://www.golfstpete.com/rates/)). TPC Tampa Bay in Lutz (Bobby Weed, 6,898 yards, cart compulsory) posts $249 to $279 in peak season, so a summer rate of roughly $100 to $150 is likely but unverified ([Where2Golf TPC Tampa Bay](https://where2golf.com/usa-florida/tpc-tampa-bay)). Streamsong, 1.5 hours southeast, drops to **$190 for resort guests and $240 for day guests from May 23 to June 23, 2027**, but a $35 cart, $60 group caddie and tip push one round to about $325, and Cabot Citrus Farms (50 minutes north, day play bookable 6 months out) adds $35 to $75 in caddie fees plus $40 to $80 recommended tip on top of unpublished green fees, so both are sub-group splurges over the cap ([Streamsong fees](https://www.streamsongresort.com/golf/fees); [Cabot Citrus Farms FAQ](https://cabot.com/citrusfarms/faqs/)). Lake Jovita (36 holes, 20 minutes from north Tampa), Fox Hollow (RTJ Jr., slope 139) and Bardmoor (20 minutes from St. Pete Beach, outings page) exist but publish no rates ([GolfNow Lake Jovita](https://www.golfnow.com/tee-times/facility/3781/tee-time/210314911); [GolfTroop Fox Hollow](https://www.golftroop.com/florida/tampa/golf-courses/fox-hollow-golf-club-tampa-bay); [Bardmoor](https://www.bardmoorgolf.com/)). The plan is Copperhead through the group program plus Island or South inside the package, or Copperhead plus Mangrove Bay at $49 on a lean plan. Innisbrook's 12 golfer threshold is the only published group policy in the market; everything else is a call to the outing coordinator.

Activities are good but no single boat carries the whole group. The largest party boats found carry 12 or 13: Greetwell's Tampa charter is **$749.43 per boat for 4 hours and up to 12 with a $30 per hour captain fee and 20 percent tip**, Boatsetter's Tampa listings run from a $54 per hour Treasure Island pontoon to $135 to $160 per hour captained tritoons and $456 to $475 per hour yachts, and Viator's Clearwater private pontoons start at $375 to $600 for 2 to 4 hours, so a 16 to 20 man group books two boats at about $90 to $130 a head ([Greetwell Tampa party boat](https://www.greetwell.com/us/direct/party-boat-charter-tampa-bay-4-hour); [Boatsetter Tampa party boats](https://www.boatsetter.com/party-boat-rentals/tampa--fl--united-states); [Viator Clearwater](https://www.viator.com/tours/Clearwater/Chute-Em-Up-Parasail-Clearwater/d22457-363911P5)). Parasailing at Clearwater Beach is $89, jet skis $110 per hour, Tropics sunset party cruises $31.57, Busch Gardens from $61.99 with a $40 all-day dining add-on, and Shooters World lanes $20 to $30 per hour plus $10 to $15 per extra shooter with full-auto experiences at $50 per hour and half price on Fridays ([Florida Review Busch Gardens](https://www.floridareview.co.uk/blog/buying-busch-gardens-tickets); [Shooters World pricing](https://shootersworld.com/indoor-shooting-range/)). Deep sea charters top out at 12 anglers for $2,400 ([Captain Experiences Clearwater](https://captainexperiences.com/locations/florida/clearwater/deep-dropping)). Bern's Steak House is the one booking with a hard calendar: group sales opens **exactly 90 days out, parties of 9 or more need a contract, private rooms seat 18, 24 or 40 with food and beverage minimums, parties over 20 must choose a pre-set menu, corkage is $75, valet is cash only and it is closed Mondays** ([Bern's group dining](https://bernssteakhouse.com/group-dining/)). Nightlife is a notch above Myrtle Beach and a notch below Nashville: Shephard's Tiki Beach Bar and its WAVES nightclub on Clearwater Beach run "from early morning until the wee hours," Frenchy's and Palm Pavilion have live music, The Shipwreck dive bar is open to 3 a.m., Ka'Tiki on Sunset Beach has live music seven nights, and Ybor City, downtown St. Pete and the Seminole Hard Rock casino are 30 to 45 minutes from the beaches ([Frommer's St. Pete and Clearwater nightlife](https://www.frommers.com/destinations/st-pete-and-clearwater-beaches/nightlife)). On sports, **the Rays are back at Tropicana Field for 2027**: they returned on April 6, 2026 after Hurricane Milton tore off the roof in October 2024, the lease runs through 2028 and the planned Hillsborough College ballpark has no opening date, so a May to July 2027 game is indoors and air conditioned in downtown St. Pete; the Rowdies play at Al Lang on the waterfront with resale tickets from $11 ([TheStadiumBusiness Rays](https://www.thestadiumbusiness.com/2026/04/07/rays-make-winning-return-to-tropicana-field/); [Vivid Seats Rowdies](https://www.vividseats.com/tampa-bay-rowdies-tickets--sports-soccer/performer/34703)). Topgolf Tampa, Columbia Restaurant, Ocean Prime and the Sponge Docks are all in market but no pricing was captured.

Weather is the deciding weakness. NWS normals for Tampa International are **90.5 / 75.4 F with 7.37 inches of rain in May, 91.0 / 76.6 with 7.75 inches in June and 91.2 / 76.9 with 9.03 inches in July**, June to September is the core thunderstorm season, and hurricane season opens June 1, though May to July landfall risk is low compared with August to October ([NWS Tampa Bay TPA normals](https://www.weather.gov/media/tbw/climate/normals/TPADailyTable.pdf); [Florida Review Tampa weather](https://floridareview.co.uk/practical-information/tampa-weather-temperature-and-rainfall)). Every round is a 7 to 9 a.m. start, Innisbrook's free replay only pays off for early groups, and mid to late May is the sweet spot because humidity is lower and Innisbrook and Streamsong are already at low season pricing.

Flights are a genuine strength, and Spirit's exit is the caveat. **DTW to TPA is about 2h 45m with roughly 8 nonstops a day on Delta, Frontier and Southwest at Expedia average one-way fares of $166 to $176 in May to July (about $330 to $350 round trip); ATL is 1h 30m with about 18 nonstops a day at $121 to $130 one way (about $240 to $260); DFW is about 2.5 hours on American and Frontier plus Southwest from Love Field at a Priceline round trip average of $144 to $155** ([Expedia DTW to TPA](https://www.expedia.com/lp/flights/dtw/tpa/detroit-to-tampa); [Expedia ATL to TPA](https://www.expedia.com/lp/flights/atl/tpa/atlanta-to-tampa); [Priceline DFW to TPA](https://www.priceline.com/flight-routes/en-us/DFW/TPA/flights-from-dallas-to-tampa.ssp); [Southwest DAL to TPA](https://www.southwest.com/routes/flights-from-dallas-to-tampa)). Those averages still include Spirit bookings through April 2026 (Spirit flew 14 weekly DTW to TPA and 7 ATL to TPA before it ceased operations on May 2, 2026), so budget $330 to $400 from Detroit, $240 to $300 from Atlanta and $150 to $300 from Dallas ([WJLA](https://wjla.com/news/nation-world/spirit-shutdown-fl-based-budget-airline-ceases-operations-after-failed-federal-buyout)). PIE serves 63 Allegiant destinations but none of the three origin cities ([Bay News 9 PIE routes](https://baynews9.com/fl/tampa/news/2026/02/18/st--pete-clearwater-airport-routes)). Atlanta guys can also drive (a long I-75 day; not timed in the research). Innisbrook is under 35 minutes from TPA and 14 miles from PIE, Clearwater Beach is 18 miles from Tampa, and golf, beaches and Ybor sit 30 to 45 minutes apart, so four or five rental SUVs or minivans are required, or one van plus rideshare for bar nights ([Kayak Innisbrook](https://www.kayak.com/Palm-Harbor-Hotels-Innisbrook-A-Salamander-Golf-and-Spa-Resort.14340.ksp); [Kayak Wyndham Grand](https://www.kayak.com/Clearwater-Beach-Hotels-Wyndham-Grand-Clearwater-Beach.2651127.ksp)).

The math, 18 guys. The GolfPass 3 night, 3 round package at $285 per night ($855 with breakfast, taxes and fee), a two-boat day at $115, a second excursion at $65, food and drink $450 at $150 per day, flights $352 from Detroit and ground $85 is **about $1,920 (about $1,820 from Atlanta, $1,720 from Dallas)**; the UnderPar-style 2 night Copperhead package plus a third night is about $1,790 / $1,690 / $1,590. The lean plan, four guys per 2 bedroom Innisbrook condo (an assumed $330 base, not sourced), one Copperhead at the $150 companion rate plus Mangrove Bay, $400 food, comes to **about $1,440 from Atlanta and $1,540 from Detroit**; a tourist-commercial condo block on St. Pete Beach at an assumed $350 per night lands near $1,390 / $1,490. Wyndham Grand Clearwater at two per room with Copperhead plus an assumed $130 TPC summer round is about $2,000 for 3 nights and $2,390 for 4; Innisbrook 4 nights with 3 rounds is about $2,215 ([GolfPass package](https://www.golfpass.com/travel-advisor/golf-packages/florida-golf-packages/innisbrook-golf-resort-stay-play-package/); [UnderPar](https://www.underpar.com/courses/innisbrook-golf-resort); [Kayak Wyndham Grand](https://www.kayak.com/Clearwater-Beach-Hotels-Wyndham-Grand-Clearwater-Beach.2651127.ksp)). The budget holds only in the lean scenarios and only for Atlanta or Dallas flyers; Detroit flyers should expect $1,500 to $1,900 for 3 nights. The risks are near daily lightning in June and July, the hurricane season start, the Bern's 90 day window and 20 person menu cutoff, no single 20 passenger hull, the rental restrictions, a family and spring break crowd profile at Clearwater's resorts and pools (a 20 man group will fit at Shephard's and stand out at a family pool), the 30 to 45 minute spread between golf, beach and nightlife, and the fact that Innisbrook sold out its 2026 UnderPar summer packages. Booking notes: submit the Innisbrook group RFP by about January 2027 for a June block and ask for the 2 and 3 bedroom condo rates and the exact Copperhead upgrade fee; email Bern's group sales 90 days to the day before the trip; check GolfNow live for TPC Tampa Bay and Lake Jovita summer prices; and buy refundable boat and excursion bookings for any July date.

## New Orleans wins the night and the summer hotel rate, and loses on golf and humidity

Summer is genuinely the cheap season in New Orleans. Kayak's trailing data shows **August as the cheapest month at nearly every candidate hotel (Hyatt Regency $185, Sheraton about $151, Royal Sonesta $183, Omni Royal Orleans $161, Virgin $190, Roosevelt $200, Monteleone $202) against $336 to $490 in February**, several hotel pages flag June as "low season," and the citywide 4 star average is about $204 ([Kayak Hyatt Regency](https://www.kayak.com/New-Orleans-Hotels-Hyatt-Regency-New-Orleans.32826.ksp); [Kayak Sheraton](https://www.kayak.com/New-Orleans-Hotels-Sheraton-New-Orleans-Hotel.32043.ksp); [Kayak Royal Sonesta](https://www.kayak.com/New-Orleans-Hotels-Royal-Sonesta-Hotel-New-Orleans.31794.ksp); [Kayak Omni Royal Orleans](https://www.kayak.com/New-Orleans-Hotels-Omni-Royal-Orleans-Hotel.32296.ksp); [Kayak Virgin Hotels](https://www.kayak.com/New-Orleans-Hotels-Virgin-Hotels-New-Orleans.7665105.ksp); [Kayak Roosevelt](https://www.kayak.com/New-Orleans-Hotels-The-Roosevelt-New-Orleans-A-Waldorf-Astoria-Hotel.31951.ksp); [Kayak Monteleone](https://www.kayak.com/New-Orleans-Hotels-Hotel-Monteleone.63261.ksp); [Kayak New Orleans hotels](https://www.kayak.com/New-Orleans-Hotels.22085.hotel.ksp)). A June or July two queen room at the Sheraton, Hyatt Regency, Omni or Royal Sonesta should price near that trough plus about 30 percent on Friday and Saturday, so **$180 to $250 base**, with destination fees of $30 at Hyatt Regency, $29.19 at Royal Sonesta, $35.25 at Omni, $31.52 at Virgin, $29.05 at Hilton Riverside, $28.75 at the Marriotts and $23.49 at Caesars ([Hyatt Regency policies](https://www.hyatt.com/hyatt-regency/en-US/msyrn-hyatt-regency-new-orleans/policies); [ResortFeeChecker New Orleans](https://www.resortfeechecker.com/hotel_resort_fees_new_orleans_la.html); [ResortFeeChecker Caesars](https://www.resortfeechecker.com/1554573-resort_fee_harrahs_new_orleans_caesars_rewards_destination.html)). Every one of those hotels has a pool, and the French Quarter ones (Royal Sonesta on Bourbon, Omni Royal Orleans, Monteleone with the Carousel Bar) have heated rooftop pools a block or two from Bourbon Street; Virgin's Pool Club sells non-guest day passes from $25 ([ResortPass Virgin Pool Club](https://www.resortpass.com/experiences/day-pass-3226562); [Hotel Monteleone](https://hotelmonteleone.com/all-posts/enjoy-summer-hotel-monteleone-3/)). Caesars New Orleans, the former Harrah's, finished a $435 million redevelopment in November 2024 with a Nobu hotel inside it, 100 plus table games and private gaming tables for groups, which is the closest thing to a Vegas-style base ([Hotel Dive Caesars](https://www.hoteldive.com/news/nobu-hotel-caesars-new-orleans-opening/736399/); [New Orleans and Company bachelor page](https://www.neworleans.com/weddings/pre-post-wedding-events/bachelor-parties/)). May is pricier (Jazz Fest and conventions; April is the most expensive month at Monteleone and near Caesars) and **July 4 weekend is the one summer spike to avoid because Essence Fest fills the convention center and Superdome with hundreds of thousands of visitors** (2026 dates were July 3 to 5; 2027 dates are unconfirmed but it has always run that weekend) ([New Orleans and Company Essence guide](https://www.neworleans.com/things-to-do/festivals/multicultural/the-ultimate-essence-fest-guide/)). Rentals are off the table: the city caps residential short term rentals at **10 overnight guests**, bans them outright in the French Quarter and the Historic Garden District, requires the owner on site for residential permits, fines $500 to $1,000 per day, has made Airbnb verify permits since June 2025, and the one 16 person Mid City house found ("The Orleans House," about $1,345 per night) states "No bachelor, bachelorette, stag, or hen parties" with a 30 plus renter minimum ([Hostaway New Orleans STR rules](https://www.hostaway.com/blog/airbnb-rules-new-orleans/); [City of New Orleans STR](https://nola.gov/short-term-rentals/); [Vrbo 2183138](https://vrbo.com/2183138)). New Orleans and Company offers free hotel quotes and vendor help for groups of 10 or more ([New Orleans and Company](https://www.neworleans.com/weddings/pre-post-wedding-events/bachelor-parties/)).

Golf is thin but adequate for two rounds. TPC Louisiana in Avondale, 15 miles across the river (Pete Dye, 7,400 yards, Zurich Classic host), starts at **$129 for non-residents with the published table running $129 to $300, while GolfNow Hot Deals in October 2026 showed $69.99 to $72.99 singles at 1:30 p.m. and $161.99 to $183.99 foursome slots at 11 a.m. to noon**; a 2023 reviewer booked a $46 Hot Deal in 100 degree heat and a July 2026 reviewer complained of $160 for a twilight round, and June 2026 reviews noted punched greens from early June aeration ([TPC Louisiana](https://tpc.com/louisiana/); [Golf Monthly TPC Louisiana](https://www.golfmonthly.com/travel/usa/how-can-i-play-tpc-louisiana); [GolfPass TPC Louisiana](https://www.golfpass.com/travel-advisor/courses/15494-tpc-louisiana)). Bayou Oaks South at City Park (Rees Jones, 4 miles from the Quarter, LIV Golf Louisiana host) is the value play at **$41.25 to $80.25 on GolfNow with a 4.5 rating from 402 reviews and 98.6 percent recommending** ([GolfPass Bayou Oaks South](https://www.golfpass.com/travel-advisor/courses/36519-bayou-oaks-city-park-south-course); [LIV Golf Louisiana course](https://www.livgolf.com/schedule/louisiana-2026/course)). English Turn on the West Bank became a Troon-managed semi-private open to daily fee play in April 2025, with forum posters reporting $134 weekday and $164 weekend non-resident rates and years of inconsistent conditioning before the handover ([GolfNow English Turn](https://www.golfnow.co.uk/courses/1039035-english-turn-golf-country-club-details); [TigerDroppings English Turn](https://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/golf/troon-taking-over-english-turn/118524238/)). After that it is Audubon Park (par 62, 4,220 yards, Golf Digest 4.5 stars), Stonebridge in Gretna, Lakewood in Algiers and Oak Harbor in Slidell at a $48.99 Hot Deal 40 minutes out; Chateau in Kenner is private ([GolfNow Audubon Park](https://www.golfnow.co.uk/courses/1030881-audubon-park-golf-club-details); [GolfNow Oak Harbor](https://www.golfnow.com/tee-times/facility/779/tee-time/312181500); [Troon Chateau](https://troon.com/course/chateau-golf-and-country-club)). The plan is TPC as the marquee round at $150 to $185 for a non-resident morning time (or $70 to $100 on a summer Hot Deal if the group accepts an 11 a.m. start in the heat) and Bayou Oaks South at $60 to $80, with English Turn as a swap. Summer is dead season so five consecutive tee times should be easy, but late May avoids TPC's June aeration. Like Nashville, New Orleans was absent from the top 25 golf bachelor cities "due to relatively lower Play rankings" ([LawnStarter](https://www.lawnstarter.com/blog/?p=107664)).

Activities and food are where this city competes with Vegas. Airboat swamp tours are **$59 to $65 self-drive or $89 to $90 with hotel pickup on the large boats (Airboat Adventures' big boat holds 27, so a private boat for the whole group is plausible)**, the Steamboat Natchez runs a daytime jazz cruise from $43.50, lunch cruise from $65 and dinner jazz cruise at $107.50 with group rates for 10 plus, a guided Bourbon Street crawl is $35 for four stops with shots, the Sazerac House Legacy Tour is $35 (self-guided is free with three samples), a private Carousel Bar mixologist session is $100, a professional brass band for a private second line averages $500 to $1,000 ($30 to $60 a head), and Topgolf bays run $40 to $64 per hour nationally so three bays for 18 is about $10 an hour each ([Free Tours by Foot airboats](https://freetoursbyfoot.com/new-orleans-airboat-tours/); [Gray Line Natchez](https://graylineneworleans.com/steamboat-natchez-jazz-dinner-cruise); [Groupon Viator crawl](https://www.groupon.com/deals/viator-crawl-new-orleans-5); [Sazerac House tours](https://www.sazerachouse.com/tours-and-tastings/); [Explore With Erin](https://explorewitherin.com/best-hotels-bachelor-party-new-orleans/); [GigSalad brass band](https://www.gigsalad.com/hacienda_brass_band_new_orleans); [Golfers Authority Topgolf](https://golfersauthority.com/?p=2294)). A Venice redfish charter two hours away is $1,400 per boat of four, about $350 a head, so only a sub-group will do it ([FishingBooker Venice Charters](https://fishingbooker.com/charters/view/1863)). Pro and minor league sports are dark: the Saints and Pelicans are off season and Louisiana has had no affiliated baseball since the Baby Cakes left after 2019 ([Wikipedia Baby Cakes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Orleans_Baby_Cakes)). Group dinners need set menus: Commander's Palace jazz brunch entrees are $41 to $59 including starter and dessert with $9 Brandy Milk Punches and private rooms for 15 to 96, Galatoire's requires a set menu for parties of 16 or more and jackets after 5 p.m., and a catered boil at a hotel suite or courtyard runs **$70 per guest drop-off to $85 cooked on site and $105 with 100 oysters** ([OpenTable Commander's Palace](https://www.opentable.com/r/commanders-palace-new-orleans); [Commander's private dining](https://commanderspalace.com/private-dining); [Galatoire's FAQ](https://www.galatoires.com/faq); [Airbnb Services seafood boil](https://www.airbnb.com/services/6087598)). Crawfish season ends around Memorial Day with a few through Father's Day, so a late May date gets a crawfish boil and a July date gets shrimp and crab at the same price ([Louisiana Radio Network](https://louisianaradionetwork.com/2026/05/22/46649/)). A planner benchmark puts a budget bachelor day at $200 to $400 per person with festival periods adding 40 to 60 percent ([Bridesmaid for Hire](https://bridesmaidforhire.com/?p=24826)).

Weather is the worst on the list after Scottsdale's raw heat. NOAA normals are **85 / 69 F in May, 90 / 75 in June and 91 / 77 in July, with muggy days rising from 9 in May to 19.7 in June and 26.2 in July** (muggy or worse 87 percent of the time at the late July peak), relative humidity around 72 to 77 percent, and an early July 2026 forecast of heat index 105 to 108 with scattered storms "most days" and "dangerously hot" afternoons ([Current Results, NOAA normals](https://www.currentresults.com/Weather/Louisiana/Places/new-orleans-temperatures-by-month-average.php); [WeatherSpark New Orleans](https://weatherspark.com/y/11925/Average-Weather-in-New-Orleans-Louisiana-United-States-Year-Round); [FOX 8 July 2026](https://www.fox8live.com/2026/07/03/normal-summer-pattern-with-heat-scattered-storms/)). Hurricane season opens June 1; June and July strikes are rarer than August to October but a tropical system cancels airboats, charters and the Natchez on short notice. Late May after Memorial Day is the sweet spot: mid 80s, fewer muggy days, crawfish still on, lower rates than early May and before TPC's aeration.

Flights favor Dallas and Atlanta and punish Detroit in June. **DTW to MSY is a Delta-only nonstop (2h 37m) at a $318 twelve month average, $378 in May and $459 in June, the route's most expensive month; DFW is 1h 32m on American and Frontier at a $202 average ($272 in June); ATL is 1h 38m on Delta, Frontier and Southwest at a $226 average ($241 June, $245 July)** ([Kayak DTW to MSY](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Detroit-Metropolitan-Wayne-County-DTW/New-Orleans-Louis-Armstrong-MSY); [Kayak DFW to MSY](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Dallas-Fort-Worth-DFW/New-Orleans-Louis-Armstrong-MSY); [Kayak ATL to MSY](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson-ATL/New-Orleans-Louis-Armstrong-MSY)). Spirit, which had served MSY, ceased operations on May 2, 2026, leaving Frontier as the only ultra low cost carrier on the Dallas and Atlanta routes and Delta alone from Detroit ([CAPA Spirit suspends operations](https://centreforaviation.com/news/spirit-airlines-suspends-operations-1357584)). Dallas to New Orleans is about 520 miles and 8 hours by car, so the $272 fare is the better call unless the Dallas guys want vehicles for golf. No rental car is needed: the airport taxi is a **$36 flat rate for two or $15 per person for three or more**, the Quarter, CBD and Frenchmen are walkable, and golf days are four or five Ubers to Avondale (25 to 35 minutes) or two minivans from the airport rental center at an estimated $30 to $60 per person for the trip ([ACC 2026 transportation page](https://acc2026.a2c2.org/travel-and-venue/transportation)).

The math, two per room, with taxes and fees modeled at an estimated $60 per room per night. The low case (Sheraton or Omni class at $160 base in late June, a TPC Hot Deal afternoon plus Bayou Oaks, an airboat and bar crawl, $150 a day food and drink): lodging $330, golf $145, excursions $100, food $525, ground $80, for $1,180 before flights, so **about $1,420 from Atlanta, $1,450 from Dallas, $1,560 from Detroit in May and $1,640 from Detroit in June**. The mid case (Hyatt Regency, Royal Sonesta or Roosevelt at $220, TPC morning at $170 plus Bayou Oaks $80, airboat with pickup, Natchez and a split brass band, $225 a day): $1,733 before flights, so **about $1,975 from Atlanta, $2,005 from Dallas and $2,110 to $2,190 from Detroit**. Four nights adds about $260 (low) to $365 (mid), putting the low case near $1,680 from Atlanta and $1,900 from Detroit in June ([Kayak hotel and route pages above](https://www.kayak.com/New-Orleans-Hotels.22085.hotel.ksp); [GolfPass TPC](https://www.golfpass.com/travel-advisor/courses/15494-tpc-louisiana); [Free Tours by Foot](https://freetoursbyfoot.com/new-orleans-airboat-tours/)). Lodging and golf are cheap; Detroit airfare in June and the city's $150 to $250 per day food and drink reality are what break the budget. The risks are heat index 100 to 108 with daily storm chances, hurricane season, the Essence weekend spike, rental rules that force a hotel block (10 rooms usually means a signed contract and attrition), thin golf depth and June greens aeration at TPC, the Detroit fare premium, and Quarter safety at night, which the group manages with a tight itinerary, rideshares after midnight and no solo walks between Bourbon and Frenchmen. Booking notes: ask New Orleans and Company for free group quotes, target a Thursday to Sunday in the last week of May or first two weeks of June, book TPC through its outing desk rather than GolfNow for five consecutive morning times, lock a Commander's or Galatoire's set menu early, and buy refundable excursions for any July date.

## Scottsdale fits only on a 3 night Talking Stick plan, and San Diego and Tahoe do not fit at all

Scottsdale is a genuinely great bachelor golf town with a budget problem that summer only partly solves. Resorts drop 40 to 60 percent from spring peak in June through August; Experience Scottsdale's summer group window runs May 31 to September 10, 2027 ([Experience Scottsdale summer meetings](https://www.experiencescottsdale.com/meetings/summer/)). The mid-range candidates are Talking Stick Resort (casino, Topgolf and Octane Raceway on property, Release pool parties, 36 holes, Kayak July average about US$160 with a $25 resort fee), Grand Hyatt Scottsdale (10 pools and a 3 story water slide, July average $293 plus $57 fee, 5 miles from Old Town), Westin Kierland (900 foot lazy river and FlowRider, about $180 to $300 plus $56.44 fee), and Omni Montelucia (August low $264, $50.92 fee, 3.7 miles from Old Town); JW Desert Ridge and Fairmont Princess run $300 to $630 plus $62 to $68 fees and are over budget ([Kayak Talking Stick](https://www.ca.kayak.com/Scottsdale-Hotels-Talking-Stick-Resort.308519.ksp); [Kayak Grand Hyatt](https://www.kayak.com/Scottsdale-Hotels-Grand-Hyatt-Scottsdale-Resort.14689.ksp); [ResortFeeChecker Phoenix](https://www.resortfeechecker.com/hotel_resort_fees_phoenix_az.html); [The Points Guy](https://thepointsguy.com/guide/hotels-best-lazy-rivers/)). Talking Stick's $129 summer promo is restricted to drivers licensed in AZ, CA, NV, UT, CO and NM, so a Michigan, Texas and Georgia group will not qualify ([Experience Scottsdale offer](https://www.experiencescottsdale.com/offers/summer-playcation-at-talking-stick-resort/7265/)). Rental estates sleep 16 at most, charge $30 per extra guest above 8, ban parties and outside visitors with 9 p.m. quiet hours, and Scottsdale passed an ordinance on July 2, 2026 letting police classify a rental as an event center with fines for renters and license loss for owners ([Airbnb 41905797](https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/41905797); [AZFamily](https://www.azfamily.com/2026/07/03/scottsdale-cracks-down-short-term-rental-party-houses/)).

Golf is superb and cheap in summer: We-Ko-Pa's official 2027 resort rate is **$169 from May 17 to June 13 (versus $329 in winter), dropping to about $109 from mid June to late August**, TPC Champions runs $65 to $69 in summer, Grayhawk's Crazy 8s sells 8 transferable rounds for $399 (about $50 a round, June 8 to September 8, weekends after 8 a.m. only), Papago starts at $98, and Wildfire at JW Desert Ridge is $159 after 1 p.m.; the TPC Stadium course stays at $200 to $319 in summer and is a grooms-only splurge ([We-Ko-Pa green fees](https://wekopa.com/green-fees/); [JBSA Golf TPC](https://www.jbsagolf.com/blogs/?p=48478); [Experience Scottsdale Crazy 8s](https://www.experiencescottsdale.com/offers/crazy-8s-at-grayhawk-golf-club/7287/); [UnderPar Wildfire](https://www.underpar.com/courses/wildfire-golf-club-az)). Note We-Ko-Pa closed Cholla July 6 to 19 and Saguaro July 20 to August 2 in 2026 for aerification, so a July trip may find only one course open. Activities are strong and mostly $20 to $75: Salt River tubing $28 ($30 group rate at 20 plus, morning only since last rental is 2 p.m.), Topgolf bays $40 to $64 per hour, Octane's $69.99 combo, Diamondbacks from $33 under a closed roof, Scottsdale Gun Club machine gun sessions $90 to $150, Saguaro Lake pontoons $700 to $1,100 per day for 8 to 12, and Old Town's Riot House, Maya and Casa Amigos for nightlife with VIP minimums quoted only by phone ([Salt River Tubing](https://www.saltrivertubing.com/river-tubing/); [Octane Raceway](https://octaneraceway.com/); [TickPick D-backs](https://www.tickpick.com/mlb/arizona-diamondbacks-tickets/); [Boatsetter Saguaro Lake](https://www.boatsetter.com/boating-resources/saguaro-lake-boat-rental); [Riot House VIP](https://riothouse.com/vip-bottle-service/)).

The problem is heat and cost. Phoenix normals are **95 / 69 in May, 104 / 78 in June and 106 / 83 in July**, with the monsoon starting June 15; July 2026 saw an extreme heat warning with 111 to 116 F forecast highs and overnight lows near 90, and Grand Hyatt reviewers in September reported pool water too hot to enjoy for lack of shade ([Arizona Republic via Yahoo](https://www.yahoo.com/news/normal-weather-metro-phoenix-time-130138287.html); [KTAR](https://ktar.com/arizona-weather-news/extreme-heat-phoenix-extend/5887381/); [TripAdvisor Grand Hyatt](https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g31350-d74109-Reviews-Grand_Hyatt_Scottsdale_Resort-Scottsdale_Arizona.html)). Flights are fine: nonstops from all three cities at June medians of $368 from Detroit (4h 27m), about $250 to $299 from Dallas (2h 42m) and $383 from Atlanta (4h 12m) ([KAYAK DTW to PHX](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Detroit-Metropolitan-Wayne-County-DTW/Phoenix-Sky-Harbor-Intl-PHX); [KAYAK DFW to PHX](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Dallas-Fort-Worth-Intl-DFW/Phoenix-Sky-Harbor-Intl-PHX); [KAYAK ATL to PHX](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson-ATL/Phoenix-Sky-Harbor-Intl-PHX)). The math: at Grand Hyatt or Kierland ($280 base plus $57 fee plus 14 percent tax, $188 per guy per night), 3 nights is about $1,700 to $1,830 and 4 nights about $2,050; at Talking Stick ($160 base, $104 per guy per night), **3 nights is about $1,440 and 4 nights about $1,700, falling to $1,285 and $1,545 with Crazy 8s golf**; JW or Fairmont is about $2,000. Scottsdale therefore fits only on a 3 night Talking Stick plan in June, with golf before 6 a.m. and pool afternoons, and the Talking Stick cluster (casino, Topgolf, Octane, Release pool, tubing 20 minutes east) means no rental cars are needed except for We-Ko-Pa and north Scottsdale golf days.

San Diego is the opposite case: perfect weather and cheap golf, but California lodging kills it. The city's hotel index runs **$202 in May, $231 in June and $292 in July (47 percent above its annual average)**, every full-service resort adds a $46 to $56 fee and $38 to $79 parking, and a Mission Bay resort like Paradise Point averages $312 midweek and $493 in July ([Engine San Diego](https://engine.com/data/hotel-prices/san-diego-ca); [ResortFeeChecker SD](https://resortfeechecker.com/hotel_resort_fees_san_diego_ca.html); [Kayak Paradise Point](https://www.kayak.com/San-Diego-Hotels-Paradise-Point-Resort-Spa.32285.ksp)). Catamaran bans gatherings anywhere on property and caps rooms at 6 registered guests ([Catamaran FAQs](https://www.catamaranresort.com/faqs)). Mission Beach homes sleeping 16 to 19 start at $1,288 to $2,755 per night with one week minimums, under an STRO ordinance requiring a one hour local contact response to complaints ([Emerald Kite SD](https://emeraldkite.com/vacation-rentals/mission-beach-and-pacific-beach-home-913457/); [City of San Diego STRO](https://www.sandiego.gov/stro)). Golf is the bright spot: Coronado Municipal $59 to $85 (cash only pro shop), Balboa Park $56.50 weekday / $71 weekend plus $20 cart, Encinitas Ranch $115 to $135 and The Crossings $122 to $140 with cart and 16 plus group desks, Rancho Bernardo Inn $140 to $185 plus $15 cart; Torrey Pines North is $163 weekday plus $48 cart plus a $50 non-refundable non-resident booking fee ($261 all-in), South is $258 to $322, and groups of 16 or more can request dates beyond the 90 day window ([City of San Diego Torrey fees](https://www.sandiego.gov/torrey-pines/course-fees); [Torrey booking info](https://www.sandiego.gov/torrey-pines/tee-time-booking-information); [JC Golf Encinitas](https://www.jcgolf.com/encinitas-ranch/); [Balboa rates](https://www.sandiego.gov/sites/default/files/2025-12/balboa-park-golf-course-rates-cy26.pdf)). Weather is 69.5 / 60 in May, 71.7 / 62.6 in June and 75.3 / 66.1 in July with almost no rain but a marine layer that can last all day in May and June ([Climate of San Diego](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_of_San_Diego)). Detroit flights are the priciest mainland option at **$552 / $539 June and July medians (4h 51m)**, Atlanta $541 / $544 and Dallas about $353 ([KAYAK DTW to SAN](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Detroit-Metropolitan-Wayne-County-DTW/San-Diego-SAN); [KAYAK ATL to SAN](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson-ATL/San-Diego-SAN)). The math: mid-range Mission Bay about $2,180 for 3 nights and $2,550 for 4; a Hotel Circle middle path about $1,775 and $2,035; a lean rental plan about $1,505 and $1,705 with the one week minimum unsolved. A Detroit heavy group at a bayfront resort in July will not get under $2,000.

Lake Tahoe fails on flights and rentals. **Detroit has no nonstop to Reno; Kayak's June median is $629 with about 6.5 hours each way via a connection**, Atlanta's single daily Delta nonstop is 4h 58m at $411 to $621, and Dallas is 3h 40m at $359 to $530; Sacramento is no cheaper and adds a 2 hour drive ([KAYAK DTW to RNO](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Detroit-Metropolitan-Wayne-County-DTW/Reno-RNO); [Kayak ATL to RNO](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Hartsfield-Jackson-Atlanta-ATL/Reno-RNO); [Kayak DFW to RNO](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Dallas-Fort-Worth-DFW/Reno-RNO)). The City of South Lake Tahoe bans vacation rentals in residential zones (Measure T) and Douglas County on the Nevada side caps standard permits at 10 occupants with 9 p.m. quiet hours and fines up to $2,500 per day, so 20 guys need two or three houses ([RedAwning South Lake Tahoe](https://www.redawning.com/pm/airbnb-management-cities/south-lake-tahoe-california); [Record Courier](https://www.recordcourier.com/news/2023/may/09/douglas-county-legal-33532/)). Stateline casino hotels (Harrah's, the renovated Caesars Republic, Golden Nugget, Bally's) have two queen rooms with $25 to $38 fees, but Harrah's July average is about US$315 per night ([Kayak CA Harrah's](https://www.ca.kayak.com/Stateline-Hotels-Harrah-s-Lake-Tahoe-Resort-Casino.32773.ksp)). Golf under $200 is Lake Tahoe Golf Course ($120 with cart, $89 Sunday to Thursday May 1 to 23), Coyote Moon ($150 before June 5, $225 peak), Tahoe Donner ($165 early season) and Reno courses at $40 to $100; Edgewood is $275 in May, $325 to $350 in June and $450 in July with the American Century Championship occupying it July 7 to 11, 2027 ([Lake Tahoe GC rates](https://www.laketahoegc.com/golf-tee-times/view-course-rates/); [Coyote Moon rates](https://www.coyotemoongolf.com/rates); [Edgewood golf](https://www.edgewoodtahoe.com/golf)). May averages 62 / 34 with occasional snow, June 72 / 38 and July 79 / 42, and the lake surface is about 65 F in July ([WeatherSpark SLT](https://weatherspark.com/y/1529/Average-Weather-in-South-Lake-Tahoe-California-United-States-Year-Round)). A boat day at Zephyr Cove Marina is about $95 to $110 per head across two 12 person boats ([Zephyr Cove Marina](https://www.zephyrcove.com/zephyr-cove-marina/watercraft-rentals/powerboat-rentals)). The math at a Stateline casino in June is about $2,040 for 3 nights and $2,300 for 4 from Detroit ($1,890 from Dallas), and even a May plan lands near $1,760. Tahoe is a beautiful 8 to 12 person trip, not a 20 person one from these three cities.

## Also considered: Palm Springs, Hilton Head, Pinehurst and Big Cedar

Four more destinations were screened and none earned a full write up. **Palm Springs** is a hotter, harder to reach Scottsdale: June and July average highs are 103.6 and 108.6 F with about 115 days a year over 100, so golf is a 6 to 9 a.m. activity, and while summer boutique rooms run under $150 to $250 and summer golf cards exist (Cimarron $69, Indian Wells Nine and Dine $99), Detroit has no nonstop (6.5 hours and a $480 average via Denver or Minneapolis) and Atlanta's lone Delta nonstop averages $648, which lands a 3 night trip near $1,560 blended and $1,600 to $1,700 for the Detroit and Atlanta guys; it loses to Scottsdale on access and nightlife and to Vegas on everything ([Wikipedia Palm Springs](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palm_Springs,_California); [Visit Palm Springs summer deals](https://visitpalmsprings.com/secret-palm-springs-summer-deals/); [Kayak DTW to PSP](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Detroit-DTW/Palm-Springs-PSP); [Kayak ATL to PSP](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Atlanta-ATL/Palm-Springs-PSP)). **Hilton Head** is a quieter, pricier Myrtle Beach: Harbour Town is $378 to $414 in June and July 2026, far over the cap, Heron Point's $195 afternoon rate is the only published number under it, Sea Pines and Palmetto Dunes hide villa and group package rates behind quote forms (with a 9 plus player tournament surcharge warning), and the island's own nightlife page describes sunset bars and cover bands with the real night out an hour away in Savannah; estimated at about $1,635 for 3 nights, it loses to Myrtle Beach on cost and nightlife ([Golf News Net Harbour Town](https://thegolfnewsnet.com/golfnewsnetteam/2026/04/16/how-much-does-it-cost-to-play-golf-at-harbour-town-golf-links-in-2026-142242/); [Sea Pines golf](https://www.seapines.com/golf/); [HiltonHeadIsland.org nightlife](https://www.hiltonheadisland.org/island-time/dining/under-stars-nightlife-and-entertainment-hilton-head-island)). **Pinehurst and Southern Pines** is the only alternate that clears the budget (about $1,400 for 3 nights, near $1,200 for the Atlanta contingent) and it has the best pure golf value in the country, with Tobacco Road at $100 to $130, Mid Pines near $80 to $95 in summer, Pinehurst No. 1, 3 and 5 walk-on rounds at $100 to $135 and RDU averages of $160 from Atlanta, $264 from Detroit and $304 from Dallas on nonstops from all three; but No. 2 ($470 plus caddie, resort guests only) and No. 4 ($395) are out of reach, the resort amenities come only at Pinehurst Resort prices ($3,002 to $3,530 per person for a 3 night premier package in 2024), and there is no nightlife to speak of, which fails the party half of the brief; it deserves a short write up only if the group wants a golf-first option on the ballot ([GOLF.com Pinehurst fees](https://golf.com/travel/pinehurst-greens-fees-price-every-course/); [GolfPass Sandhills value](https://www.golfpass.com/travel-advisor/articles/ultimate-value-when-is-the-best-time-to-play-golf-in-the-north-carolina-sandhills); [Kayak ATL to RDU](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Atlanta-ATL/Raleigh-RDU); [GOLF.com Pinehurst package](https://golf.com/travel/pinehurst-no-2-price-what-costs-us-open/)). **Big Cedar Lodge and Lake of the Ozarks** has arguably the best courses of the four (Payne's Valley, Ozarks National, Buffalo Ridge) and a genuine lake party scene (Backwater Jack's, Shady Gators), but Big Cedar's published 2026 peak rate card (April 13 to October 25) prices Payne's Valley at $425 for guests and $525 public and the two Coore and Crenshaw courses at $275 and $350, with only the short courses under $200; lodge rooms are about $267 plus a $50 resort fee, Detroit has no nonstop to Springfield, Dallas's 90 minute hop averages $543, and the lake is a two hour drive from the lodge, so a 3 night trip is about $1,835 to $2,125 per person and it was dropped unless the greens fee cap is lifted to $400 to $500 for one round ([BigCedar.com golf rates](https://bigcedar.com/golf/); [Hotels.com Big Cedar](https://lookup.hotels.com/ho997159328/big-cedar-lodge-ridgedale-united-states-of-america); [Kayak DFW to SGF](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Dallas-DFW/Springfield-SGF); [The Knot Lake of the Ozarks](https://theknot.com/content/lake-of-the-ozarks-bachelor-party)).

## Side by side scoring and the ranked verdict

Scores are 1 to 5 on each axis, weighted toward the brief's stated musts (golf under $200, resort fit, budget). Cost reflects the realistic 3 night all-in for the full group including Detroit flyers. The four new destinations were scored on the same rubric: Nashville is high on nightlife, logistics and activities and low on lodging cost and golf prestige; Austin is strong on activities and nightlife and weak on cost and logistics (five cars, Omni over budget, Delta-only from Detroit); Tampa is strong on golf and flights, middling on nightlife, weak on weather and rentals; New Orleans is top tier on nightlife and food with cheap summer hotels, thin golf, brutal humidity and no rental option.

The ranked recommendation is **1. Las Vegas, 2. Orlando, 3. Myrtle Beach, 4. Tampa/St. Pete, 5. Scottsdale, 6. Nashville, 7. New Orleans, 8. Austin, 9. San Diego, 10. Lake Tahoe**. To say it plainly: **none of the four new cities displaces Las Vegas, Orlando or Myrtle Beach from the top three.** Vegas still ties for the top on lodging fit, activities, logistics and nightlife and clears the budget midweek. Orlando is still the cheapest plan that works for all three cities. Myrtle Beach keeps third despite scoring a point below Tampa because the brief's musts are budget and golf under $200, and Myrtle Beach is the only eastern option where the whole group, Detroit flyers included, lands at or under about $1,500 on a plan that does not require quadrupling up or skipping the steakhouse ($1,350 from Atlanta, $1,500 from Detroit, $1,550 from Dallas on a $300 condo package with milder weather and no lightning lottery). Tampa is the closest challenger and the best of the new four: it has the strongest golf anchor on the list outside Scottsdale (a top-100 Copperhead at $150 with a 12 golfer group program and packages that bundle three rounds), the cheapest and most frequent nonstops of any new city, and a real beach party core at Shephard's, but it only reaches the budget on a lean four-per-condo plan for Atlanta and Dallas flyers, its June and July afternoons are a near daily lightning hold, and it has no single 20 passenger boat or legal beach house. It would take third if the group values course prestige over cost or if the single daily Delta MYR flight cannot seat the Detroit contingent. Nashville ties Orlando and Scottsdale on raw points and is the pick if the group's honest priority is the night out and Atlanta is the biggest contingent (a four hour drive), but a $383 all-in downtown room makes it a $1,900 trip at two per room and the golf is a 3.8 rated public course; it ranks sixth, behind Scottsdale, because Talking Stick clears the budget without a concession on room sharing. New Orleans is the right call for a group that would trade golf for food and Bourbon Street, with cheap June hotels and no cars, but two real courses, a 26 muggy day July and $459 June fares from Detroit hold it to seventh. Austin is a great lake and Hill Country trip that happens to include golf; it needs five cars and a sober driver every night, its best resort is over budget before golf, and only a Lake Travis house with muni golf and Atlanta or Dallas arrivals gets it under $1,500, so it ranks eighth. San Diego and Tahoe should still be dropped for cost and flights respectively.

## The date, money and transport playbook

Hawaii is off the table on flights alone: **Honolulu round trips run about $1,100 to $1,300 from Detroit and $830 to $1,200 from Atlanta and Dallas in June and July, plus 9 to 12 hours each way, which is 70 to 100 percent of a $1,500 budget before a hotel, round or meal** ([KAYAK DTW to HNL](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Detroit-Metropolitan-Wayne-County-DTW/Honolulu-HNL); [KAYAK DFW to HNL](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Dallas-Fort-Worth-Intl-DFW/Honolulu-HNL); [KAYAK ATL to HNL](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson-ATL/Honolulu-HNL)).

Date strategy. The 2027 calendar puts Memorial Day on Monday May 31, Father's Day on Sunday June 20 and July 4 on a Sunday with the observed holiday Monday July 5, so the windows to avoid are **May 27 to June 1, June 17 to 21 and July 1 to 6**, and two destination-specific blackouts join them: CMA Fest in Nashville, June 10 to 13, 2027, and Essence Fest in New Orleans over the July 4 weekend ([WSMV](https://www.wsmv.com/2026/08/14/cma-fest-2027-tickets-sale-festival-prepares-new-nissan-stadium-debut/); [New Orleans and Company Essence guide](https://www.neworleans.com/things-to-do/festivals/multicultural/the-ultimate-essence-fest-guide/)). June is the most expensive or second most expensive month on most of the route pages checked (it is the single priciest month on DTW to MSY at $459 and DTW to SAV at $469), so May is cheapest to fly. The best windows are Thursday May 13 to Sunday May 16 or Wednesday May 19 to Saturday May 22 (after graduations, before Memorial Day, and before Phoenix and Vegas peak heat), Wednesday June 9 to Saturday June 12 (everywhere except Nashville), and Tuesday June 22 to Friday June 25 (which also unlocks Caledonia and True Blue summer rates in Myrtle Beach and the $109 We-Ko-Pa tier in Scottsdale). For Tampa and New Orleans, the week after Memorial Day (June 1 to 5) is the sweet spot: Innisbrook's summer group offer starts June 1, Streamsong is already at its $190 to $240 low season rate, New Orleans hotels are at their trough, crawfish is still available and TPC Louisiana's early June aeration has not yet started ([Innisbrook golf groups](https://www.innisbrookgolfresort.com/golf/golf-groups); [Streamsong fees](https://www.streamsongresort.com/golf/fees); [Louisiana Radio Network](https://louisianaradionetwork.com/2026/05/22/46649/)). Kayak's cheapest departure day is Monday or Tuesday on most routes and Sunday is the most expensive on about half; Hopper's Memorial Day data showed Saturday hotel nights 36 percent above non-weekend nights with Sunday through Tuesday cheapest, and flying out Saturday and back Tuesday saved about $90 versus Friday and Monday ([Fox Business, Hopper](https://foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/memorial-day-flights-hotels-what-will-cost-you); [Hopper July 4 outlook](https://media.hopper.com/research/4th-of-july-outlook-2025); [NerdWallet](https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/travel/fourth-of-july-travel)). A Tuesday or Wednesday arrival with a Saturday departure gets the cheapest flights, avoids paying the Saturday hotel premium twice, and puts golf on Thursday and Friday when tee sheets are easier. For Vegas specifically, a Sunday to Wednesday or Tuesday to Friday stay is the difference between $102 and $185 per guy per night. Book flights 6 to 13 weeks out, so February to March 2027 for a May trip, and book the earliest flight of the day since departures after 9 a.m. are about twice as likely to be delayed ([Hopper July 4 outlook](https://media.hopper.com/research/4th-of-july-outlook-2025)).

Flight reference by origin, round trip, June medians or 12 month averages where no median was published. **From Detroit**: LAS $434 (4h 29m), MCO $341 (2h 46m), MYR $399 on a single daily Delta nonstop, PHX $368, BNA $351 (1h 46m, Delta and Southwest), TPA about $330 to $350 (2h 45m, Delta, Frontier and Southwest), AUS $402 average on a Delta-only nonstop (3h 15m), MSY $378 in May and $459 in June on a Delta-only nonstop (2h 37m), SAN $552, RNO $629 with a connection ([Kayak DTW to BNA](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Detroit-Metropolitan-Wayne-County-DTW/Nashville-Intl-BNA); [Expedia DTW to TPA](https://www.expedia.com/lp/flights/dtw/tpa/detroit-to-tampa); [Kayak DTW to AUS](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Detroit-Metropolitan-Wayne-County-DTW/Austin-Bergstrom-AUS); [Kayak DTW to MSY](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Detroit-Metropolitan-Wayne-County-DTW/New-Orleans-Louis-Armstrong-MSY)). **From Dallas**: LAS $324, MCO $321, MYR $600 in June on a single daily American regional jet, PHX $250 to $299, BNA $338 (1h 55m, American), TPA about $144 to $155 average (2.5 hours, American, Frontier and Southwest from Love Field), AUS $58 to $77 one way on Southwest from Love Field or a three hour drive on I-35, MSY $272 (1h 32m, American and Frontier), SAN $353, RNO $359 to $530 ([Kayak DFW to BNA](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Dallas-Fort-Worth-DFW/Nashville-Intl-BNA); [Priceline DFW to TPA](https://www.priceline.com/flight-routes/en-us/DFW/TPA/flights-from-dallas-to-tampa.ssp); [Southwest DAL to AUS](https://www.southwest.com/en/flights/flights-from-dallas-to-austin); [Kayak DFW to MSY](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Dallas-Fort-Worth-DFW/New-Orleans-Louis-Armstrong-MSY)). **From Atlanta**: LAS $423, MCO $210, MYR $300 to $338 on 3 to 4 daily Delta nonstops, PHX $383, BNA $235 in May and $308 average (1h 12m, Delta and Southwest), TPA about $240 to $260 (1h 30m, about 18 Delta and Frontier nonstops a day), AUS $252 average and $296 in May (2h 33m, Delta, Southwest and Frontier), MSY $241 (1h 38m, Delta, Frontier and Southwest), SAN $541, RNO $411 to $621 ([Kayak ATL to BNA](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Hartsfield-Jackson-ATL/Nashville-Intl-BNA); [Expedia ATL to TPA](https://www.expedia.com/lp/flights/atl/tpa/atlanta-to-tampa); [Kayak ATL to AUS](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson-ATL/Austin-Bergstrom-AUS); [Kayak ATL to MSY](https://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson-ATL/New-Orleans-Louis-Armstrong-MSY)). Driving is a real option for two contingents: **Dallas guys can drive to Austin in about three hours (195 to 200 miles), and Atlanta guys can drive to Nashville in about four hours (250 miles), to Myrtle Beach in about 6.5 hours (349 miles) or to Tampa on a long I-75 day**, which saves $235 to $400 a head and brings vehicles for golf days with it ([Turo Nashville to Atlanta](https://turo.com/blog/wayfaring/nashville-to-atlanta-drive/); [Rome2Rio Atlanta to Myrtle Beach](https://www.rome2rio.com/s/Atlanta/Myrtle-Beach-SC)). Spirit Airlines ceased all operations on May 2, 2026, so any fare average that predates May 2026 on the Detroit and Atlanta routes to Tampa, Orlando, Myrtle Beach, New Orleans and Las Vegas still includes Spirit bookings and will skew low; Frontier is the only ultra low cost carrier left on those routes and Delta is the only mainline nonstop from Detroit to Austin and New Orleans ([WJLA](https://wjla.com/news/nation-world/spirit-shutdown-fl-based-budget-airline-ceases-operations-after-failed-federal-buyout); [CAPA](https://centreforaviation.com/news/spirit-airlines-suspends-operations-1357584)).

Group booking playbook. Lock dates by early January 2027. Hotels route 9 or more rooms to group sales; ask for a **courtesy block of 10 to 12 rooms, no attrition, individual pay**, which holds rooms under a group code with no financial commitment until a cutoff usually 30 days before arrival, and decline any contract with an attrition clause (typically 80 percent fill required) unless headcount is certain ([Engine hotel room blocks](https://engine.com/blog/hotel-room-blocks); [The Knot](https://www.theknot.com/content/discounted-hotel-rooms-for-wedding-guests)). Post the booking link and cutoff in the group chat, tell everyone to also price the public and promo rate because block rates in Vegas are often higher, and have everyone book the cancellable rate. Twenty guys at two per room is 10 rooms, which clears the threshold; singles push it to 12 to 14, still courtesy territory. In Nashville and New Orleans, where the summer public rate at the mid-tier hotels is already the trough, the block's value is guaranteed two queen inventory (Virgin Nashville has only 37 double queens) rather than price. For golf, email the head pro or group coordinator at each course as soon as dates lock asking for 4 or 5 consecutive tee times for 16 to 20 players; most courses treat 12 to 16 plus as a group outing requiring a signed agreement and deposit, in exchange for holds beyond the public booking window (Estrella in Phoenix opens public times 60 days out and treats 16 plus as a tournament; Torrey Pines takes 16 plus group requests beyond 90 days; Paiute handles 13 plus as a group; Hermitage in Nashville throws in free outing setup; Innisbrook's group program starts at 12 golfers with a dedicated manager; TPC Louisiana invites outings directly) ([Estrella Golf Club](https://www.estrellagolf.com/tee_time_information); [Torrey booking info](https://www.sandiego.gov/torrey-pines/tee-time-booking-information); [LV Paiute](https://www.lvpaiutegolf.com/); [Hermitage tournaments](https://hermitagegolf.com/tournaments/); [Innisbrook golf groups](https://www.innisbrookgolfresort.com/golf/golf-groups); [TPC Louisiana](https://tpc.com/louisiana/)). Request the first tee times of the morning at 8 to 10 minute intervals and a final headcount deadline 7 to 14 days out. In Myrtle Beach, skip all of this and let a package provider (Golf Trek, Myrtle Beach Golf Trips, Caledonia Golf Vacations) hold tee times, lodging and shuttles for a $100 per guest deposit with the balance due 30 days out; in Tampa, the Innisbrook RFP does the same job and should go in by January for a June block ([MyrtleBeachGolf.com](https://www.myrtlebeachgolf.com/); [Myrtle Beach Golf Trail](https://myrtlebeachgolftrail.com/?p=17632)). Two bookings have hard calendars: Bern's in Tampa opens group sales exactly 90 days out, and the Virgin Nashville Pool Club and Sounds group dates go 2 to 3 weeks out ([Bern's group dining](https://bernssteakhouse.com/group-dining/); [Virgin Hotels Nashville FAQs](https://virginhotels.com/nashville/faqs)). Travel insurance is not worth buying individually on a domestic trip where each guy holds a changeable main cabin fare and a cancellable room; the real exposure is pooled deposits, handled by the money rules below, plus July dates in Tampa or New Orleans where a tropical system can cancel boats and excursions, which argues for refundable bookings rather than a policy.

Money collection plan. Each guy books and pays his own flight and his own room, so rooms never enter the pool; the pool covers only the grooms' flights and rooms (priced at the standard double rate, not a suite), group transport, golf and charter deposits, group dinners and a slush fund, split equally among the 15 to 18 non-grooms, with golf billed per player so non-golfers do not subsidize rounds. One point person fronts shared costs, tracks everything in a Splitwise group (custom splits and share counts; the free tier caps daily expense entries, so Pro for one month or enter over several days) or Venmo Groups if the split is simple, moves money by Zelle or Venmo, and keeps a Google Sheet the whole chat can see ([TechCrunch, Venmo Groups](https://techcrunch.com/2023/11/14/venmo-gets-a-new-way-to-split-expenses-among-groups-like-clubs-teams-trip-buddies-and-more); [Splitwise Pro](https://www.splitwise.com/pro)). Collect a **nonrefundable $200 to $300 deposit per person the day dates lock** (this funds the grooms' flights and the golf and transport deposits), a second call for the estimated remainder two weeks out, and a true-up within a week after; state in writing that deposits are nonrefundable after a set date so a dropout does not raise everyone else's share. The point person should check his Venmo and Zelle limits before collecting $5,000 plus in a week. Note that boat charters in Austin and Tampa carry their own strict terms (the Lakewind barge is non-refundable within 14 days; Greetwell's $30 per hour captain fee is paid on arrival), so those deposits should come out of the pool, not one guy's card ([Boatsetter Lakewind](https://www.boatsetter.com/boats/zvvmsmz); [Greetwell](https://www.greetwell.com/us/direct/party-boat-charter-tampa-bay-4-hour)).

Transportation by destination. UberXL seats 6, so 20 guys is 4 cars per move at $100 to $180 per group move, which beats a charter only below 5 or 6 moves a day ([Uber XL](https://www.uber.com/us/en/ride/uberxl/)). **Las Vegas**: stay on the Strip, walk or UberXL for short hops (airport taxi flat zones are $21.25 to $29.25), and book one 20 to 28 passenger bus for golf days and one night out at $99 to $200 per hour with 2 hour minimums (High Roller Transportation 16 passenger Sprinter and 20 passenger party bus at $99 per hour, Bell Trans 28 passenger at $185), roughly $40 to $55 per head for a 4 hour block ([Vegas Always party bus](https://www.vegasalways.com/?p=2970); [Vegas Always taxi](https://www.vegasalways.com/taxi-fares-in-las-vegas/)). **Orlando**: two 12 passenger vans or four to five mid-size rentals from MCO, or no vehicles at all if staying at Omni, Reunion or a ChampionsGate home and golfing on site; downtown bar nights are $50 plus each way by rideshare. **Myrtle Beach**: three to five minivans along Highway 17 for golf (ask the package provider about shuttles), rideshare for Broadway at the Beach and the MarshWalk. **Nashville**: no rental cars; UberX from BNA to downtown is $15 to $19, Broadway, the Gulch, Germantown and the Sounds park are walkable or a $12 daytime ride, and golf days are two 7 passenger Uber XLs each way to Hermitage ($40 to $60 per vehicle per leg) or two minivans rented for the golf days only; budget $35 to $50 for Saturday night surge ([RideWise BNA](https://getridewise.com/airports/bna); [Stay blog](https://blog.staywithstay.com/nashville-bachelorette-party-guide/)). **Austin**: four or five SUVs for the whole trip because golf, Hudson Bend marinas, Hill Country breweries and Lost Pines are 20 to 60 minutes apart, $20 per car marina parking, rideshare at $18 to $40 from AUS, and a party bus or dedicated Ubers for Sixth Street and Rainey nights at about $30 to $50 per person, plus a sober driver every night from a lake house ([Points With a Crew AUS](https://www.pointswithacrew.com/the-cheapest-and-best-way-from-austin-airport-aus-to-downtown-austin/); [GetMyBoat Tahoe Funship](https://www.getmyboat.com/trips/6KPl044K)). **Tampa/St. Pete**: four or five rental SUVs or minivans (about $85 per person for the trip) or one van plus rideshare for bar nights; Innisbrook's tram and group bag transport cover on-property movement, but Clearwater Beach hotels charge $42 per day valet only, which argues for fewer cars on a beach base ([Wyndham Grand hotel info](https://www.wyndhamgrandclearwater.com/hotel-info); [Innisbrook golf groups](https://www.innisbrookgolfresort.com/golf/golf-groups)). **New Orleans**: no rental cars; the airport taxi is $36 flat for two or $15 per person for three or more, the Quarter, CBD and Frenchmen are walkable, and golf days are four or five Ubers to TPC Louisiana in Avondale (15 miles, 25 to 35 minutes) or two minivans from the airport rental center, about $30 to $60 per person for the trip ([ACC 2026 transportation page](https://acc2026.a2c2.org/travel-and-venue/transportation); [TPC Louisiana](https://tpc.com/louisiana/)). **Scottsdale**: rideshare from PHX to Old Town is $16 to $30; base at Talking Stick and skip cars except two or three SUVs or one shuttle for We-Ko-Pa and north Scottsdale golf mornings, plus a party bus for Old Town nights ([RideWise PHX](https://getridewise.com/blog/cheapest-uber-lyft-phx)). **San Diego**: UberXL from the airport is $40 to $55, two or three large SUVs for North County golf days, rideshare only for the Gaslamp ([Uncharted Lens](https://unchartedlens.com/routes/usa/san-diego-airport-to-pacific-beach/)). **Lake Tahoe**: the South Tahoe Airporter runs RNO to the Stateline casinos for $59.50 round trip, but golf requires four or five rental SUVs reserved early because Reno summer inventory tightens ([South Tahoe Airporter](https://www.southtahoeairporter.com/)). National charter averages are $120 to $150 per hour with 15 to 20 percent gratuity and sometimes a 20 to 30 percent service charge on top ([Fash party bus prices](https://fash.com/costs/party-bus-prices)).

## Conclusion

Adding four cities did not change the answer, but it sharpened why. The research reframes the question from "which city is best" to "which plan survives 20 guys, three airports and a $1,500 ceiling," and the expanded field shows two patterns. Cities that are built for a night out (Nashville, New Orleans, Austin) make the group pay for it in lodging, airfare from Detroit or vehicles, while cities built for golf groups (Tampa's Innisbrook, Myrtle Beach's packagers) solve the logistics but ask the group to accept lightning, humidity or a thinner bar scene. Only Vegas does both, because the resort itself absorbs the group's energy (casino, pool, sportsbook, walkable dinners) and a 16 to 20 man group gets the same $70 to $130 summer golf as a foursome. The decisive variable is still the calendar: a Sunday to Wednesday or Tuesday to Friday block in mid May or the second to fourth week of June is worth $200 to $350 per person in Vegas and $90 or more in airfare everywhere, which is more than the gap between any two destinations on the list. If the group wants a second ballot option that is not Vegas, the honest pairing is Orlando (cheapest, house party) against Tampa (best golf, beach, and cheap nonstops) rather than Myrtle Beach, because those two differ on what the trip is for while Myrtle Beach and Tampa differ mainly on weather and flight capacity.

Three things should be confirmed before committing. First, every golf and resort number here is a 2026 rate; 2027 tee sheets and room inventory open roughly 60 to 120 days and 11 to 12 months out respectively, so the point person should re-price Las Vegas National, Paiute and two Strip hotels for the actual dates in early 2027, check the Vegas convention calendar for that week, and, if Tampa is in play, get Innisbrook's condo and Copperhead upgrade quotes through the group RFP by January. Second, Spirit's shutdown means every Detroit fare on this list now rests on one to three carriers, and on the Myrtle Beach, Austin and New Orleans routes on a single Delta nonstop, so the Detroit contingent should book first and together. Third, the budget only holds if food and drink stay near $140 per day; a bachelor group routinely spends $200, and in Nashville or New Orleans $185 to $225 is the realistic floor, which alone moves a 3 night trip by $135 to $255 per person, so the honest message to the group is that $1,500 is achievable with a midweek block and one prepaid club night, and $1,000 is not achievable anywhere on this list except a stripped-down Orlando house or an Atlanta driver to Myrtle Beach or Nashville.
